Helps bring the Bible to life
I really like this dramatization of the Bible. I wish there were multiple versions to choose from, but I understand each is a full on performance and therefore costly. I’m fine with the version here, appreciate that it’s free for me. I also like that I can listen at a higher speed than 1x. 1x sounds drawling to me. I set it higher and read along, as this helps get the Word into my brain. However, the pace slows back down again sometimes when new chapters start. (Even though it will still show as set at the speed I chose.) So I bounce back and forth between 1.5x and 1.6x, because when it slows down I have to go in and change the speed again to get it to pick up the pace again. This is an easy work around, since I am actively reading while listening. But would be a pain if I just wanted to listen without having the app opened up in front of me. The older version was sooo much better. It was so much easier to switch between versions and You were able to tell which ones dramatized and have different voices.
Here it’s extremely difficult haven’t quite figured it out every time I guess because I don’t come on here as often as I used to do that I don’t remember how to do things but it’s just not convenient are used to switch frequently in one sitting.
Now it’s just like any other Bible app I might as well just stick with the YouVersion Bible but I used to like to do that one and Bible is specially in the old testament ,the gospels, and Actsbecause I like to hear the different voices but now it’s just too complicated I don’t even know if that still an option
Sept 4th after leaving the previous review I was contacted by Bible is and they were helpful to help me find the things I was looking for and gave showed me the tutorial.
So I am much happier with it now than I was and I will continue to use it.… But sorry I still like the old version better. But that just might be me I’m not good with change and I’m sure as I use it more I will get used to it and will really like it I do like that there’s plants and stuff on it nowShow lessshelbec
Why?
First of all, this app is such a great blessing for me, as a such a slow reader, Its really help me to finish my bible reading & the audio is really good!
I’ve been using thus app for years. I download the old version of this app, so I can hear it over and over without using my mobile data. However, when I replace my phone to the new one, I download the app again, this time I got the latest version, and like before, I spent an hour to downloaded the New International Version, so I can hear it without using internet. But then when I try to opened it again, it didn’t show that I have any bible or book downloaded, so I have to keep using internet to hear it. So, I wish they fix the “downloading” problem, because I like to hear the bible anytime I have time. Thank youShow lessr1357924680
For years this was my go to bible app...
I don’t usually write reviews but I felt the need to point this out in the hopes that the developers would consider what I and many other recent reviews are saying. I understand that we feel the need to “improve” or add features to products as time goes on to make us feel relevant. More bells and whistles or perhaps monetization strategies have caused major issues with the performance of this app. It crashes often and doesn’t navigate as well. When you reach for the Bible and you can’t quickly access it, it often becomes a lost opportunity to get the spiritual food you are needing. This app was amazing and made it simple and easy to access the word of god. Additional features can be nice for some things but i believe god already put all the features into the word that we need. It is up to the developers to choose the direction and priorities of their product, I wish them well.Show lessRandomdiorama.com

Again, I’ve made my way back in the troubled times on this Earth that we all live in ☹️ With all the don’t do this and you better not that day’s. Not to mention all the corruption that a certain part of our government seems to be pressing on to the ones who are at the stage of keeping and living life in that manner. I truly wonder How Much Longer will The Lord allow it to continue? I am so Grateful that I never offloaded this app ✝️ Something or someone hasn’t gave up on me and I won’t and can’t afford to let them down. I know I probably got off track but this app always brings out my heart that I seem to put on the back burner!

Downloads are fixed for me.
I love the Bible app and I use this and you version. I love the new living translation on you version app and I wish this had it as well. The reason for the two star review is downloading. Downloading is very slow, took me a little while to understand how to do it, and it crashes both my new iPhone X and my old iPhone 6 when I download more than one book at a time.
After the update two days ago, I did lose my downloads but I was able to download the audio Bible without any problems or crashes. So glad this is the only app that you can download and listen to off-line in case if there was ever an Internet outage or power outage. The audio Bible has really helped me as sometimes I don’t like to read but I’d like to listen.Show lessJohniv83
This WAS a beautiful tool for audio bible
I rarely write reviews and do this with charity knowing your ministry’s incredible work in so many ways. But this app is now more headache than it’s worth. I had many versions of audio bibles downloaded and used them regularly in this apps earlier versions. It had to be offline because our rural location hasn’t got bandwidth for online listening. I could download them at rare intervals when able and listen later. Then it upgraded and all the downloads were gone AND it was extremely time consuming, confusing, and complicated to try to get even one book of any bible downloaded after 4 or more attempts to sign up and sign in. Remember the adage that LESS IS MORE. I don’t want music, videos, stories, playlists, plans, or suggestions. I want Jesus, the Word of God and you’ve made Him harder to find in your app. Please prayerfully consider that. Your medium just got in the way of the message.Show lesswxoff

Used to be incredible
I have used this app for many years, and it was phenomenal, but with the latest upgrades it is become almost worthless. I use it as part of my daily Bible reading plan by listening to various versions of the Bible and never had a problem with it in the several years I used it, but since this upgrade I have yet to even have one day in the last few months where I have not had to clear the app from memory and restart it to be able to have the audio version to start working. Many days it takes six or seven or more restarts before I can get through three or four chapters of the Bible. More often than not it requires a restart after each chapter. I have even let the app buffer to see if it would load on its own to no avail, even after 30 minutes of buffering it still doesn’t loads the audio for this app. A very major frustration.
