  • Still best app for variety of audio and translations

Lost star because a recent update has reduced the value of the app. It has introduced a complexity which is not needed, e.g you cannot scroll down in one go the whole Bible, as you used to. The app has been divided in two, the old and the new testaments. Also, visually, the writing is more condensed making it harder for extended reading, and if you use the app a lot, that is really disappointing. I know this may sound like someone who doesn’t like change, on the contrary I do, but only when change improves what already exits.

  • Awesome

Excellent resource and easy to use. I like to compare the different translations to see a fuller picture of what is being said. Listening to how someone else speaks the word is also helpful to always hear those parts that sometimes you skip over when reading it because you think you remember what it says.

  • Really good

Most of the narration is excellent, really expressive, it feels like the narrator has an intimate relationship with God. He really brings it alive. But just occasionally there’s an insert by a narrator whose voice is flat and robotic, as if he doesn’t have any experience of how wonderful God is and is t very interested in God, just reading words that are boring to him. For example in 1Corinthians the inserts quoting Isiah are flatly narrated
most of the music detracts from it. Some of the music is completely wrong for the text and jars with it

  • Too slow

This was a great app. Now, 2020, it is too slow and it is difficult to get around. Why do you have to go to a different menu just to change from Old Testament to New Testament? I used to Bible drill with a persons phone/pad and a Bible book, and this app was very fast. Now if I try to use this at church the text is not found soon enough before the pastor has moved on to new text leaving you struggling(waiting due to loading issues)to get to that one, and bottom line you miss the message and have been distracted by a phone/pad! Not good changes! Please consider removing these changes.
Also this was so easy for my children as young as four to open, turn on, and listen to Bible before. Now five and having difficulty finding the correct section( menu) to get to the the books, then having to select OT or NT and then he ends up leaving the pad laying because it is stuck in loading. Resulting in No Bible was listened to. You ask yourself is that what you wanted?
What happened to the non drama/music KJV. It doesn’t say that when you select it, but that is what it is, distracting music/dramaish style. More options please.

  • Love this app but latest version needs help

This is my favorite Bible app and includes great audio, easy bookmarking, etc. The app has been and continues to be a huge blessing and I hope that below feedback on that latest version is seen as constructive criticism. The latest version doesn’t have nearly the user-experience of previous editions. It’s much more clunky to navigate between books. Now I often need to press a button several times when choosing a book from their new list format and the list format isn’t nearly as easy to use as the previous simple drop-down menu above the current passage. Copying text now strangely includes a copyright notice and a separate link (which makes no sense if you simply want to paste text into the notes on your phone during a sermon, etc.). As another reviewer mentioned, downloads now also take much longer. While the new app has new features like controlling playback speed, that choice of playback speed is not retained between tracks. I do appreciate the new option to turn off background music and the additional accompanying videos, but those features should have been introduced without sacrificing functionality that worked like a charm. No doubt, these issues can be addressed and coming releases.

  • New Version login needs to identify that you need to join or create a new account

I used this app every day. With this last update If i use my Facebook login it says “these credentials do not match our records”. If i use my email address it says “these credentials do not match our records”. If i use my google email account it says “these credentials do not math our records”.

The real issue was that i had not created an account. The app should communicate that “you have not setup an account”.

The new format of the app is a huge change from the original i understand. My husband wishes they would have added verse advance as the scripture is read. Just to change the look of the interface and not giving the correct response to missing account information is poor. Please add better message for account missing....

  • I want the old version back

This bible apps was one of my go to app for the past two years until this new update. Now it’s not as quiet and meditative as it was before. This is the Word of God I don’t need to hear some echo of God to interrupt my quiet and simple narrative nor do I need background music. I just want to read the Bible audibly and meditate on it as I would do reading it. Since I’m on the road a lot I relied on this app so much and I’ve not been able to stomach the noise now you’ve included in it. If I want entertainment I know where to go. Please include the classic option to silence everything else but the reader. It was so creative how you had different narrators for each book. It was almost like hearing those prophets unique voices. Please you’ve cause me a lot of confusion lately I need to return to that quiet place. Thanks for the good work so far but please include the very quiet or as I’m calling it the classic option. Thanks

  • Falling Stars

For years this app has been a 5 star daily lifeline to the Bible and many great features but recent upgrades especially the current one May 2020 has taught me that developers are not acting prudently. In a past upgrade simple problems began to emerge like searches causing program crashes and the removal of features that didn’t make any sense were in explicable and no replies to my attempts to reach out. Now, such a trend accelerates to unacceptable levels as the most recent upgrade has been disastrous for me. Frequent crashes, freezes and difficulty navigating forced me to use the browser version (which is better in some ways and worse in others). I tried the typical fixes to no avail. The only reason I didn’t give a 1 star rating here is out of my respect and deep appreciation for how this app served me in the past.

This review could be so much longer if I went into detail on specifics. I’m just so disappointed as I loved this app and now struggle to use it at all let alone on a daily basis as I have in the past (since the most recent update). I hope it’s just me but thought it important to write this review in case others are are experiencing it. Peace!

  • Phenomenal app, except this 3.0.5 version

This app is phenomenal and has gotten me so much further in the Bible than I have ever gotten before just in the past 2-3 weeks. I am not much of a reader and when I try to read, I fall asleep, and I wanna continue to dive deep into the Word, and these dramatized audio books help me to do just that. Everything was going well with the simple layout and pretty quick Bible book downloads for offline usage as well. However, when this new update came out and I updated the app, it deleted all of my downloads and now I had to make an account. Also it takes 3 times as long to download all the books and chapters and the app keep glitching where if I pause in the middle of a chapter, any of them, and maybe go to another app, and then come back to it, even a few seconds later, it buffers FOREVER. It doesn’t play until I use the skip button to go either forward or backward and then back to where I was. Also, every time I close the app, I have to log back in instead of it just automatically having me logged in. It’s a bit too many downfalls for a bunch of extra stuff. And the new layout (not including the extra features like the videos and bible plans, etc.) unfortunately is not as good as the old one. The old one was simpler and easier to utilize and faster. This one is a lot slower and has more defects unfortunately. That’s for version 3.0.5 by the way. It’s currently April 22,2020. I downloaded the app about a month ago or so.

  • The best audio bible BY FAR

Not just your ordinary bible app, these people care, invest their best efforts and time to making this app so easy to use, so beneficial and so just incredibly amazing! They have a passion for God a love for people and an honour for His word! You can even slow down the speed and really grasp everything God is saying! Let alone a free translator to preach the Gospel every where you go! Just incredible! Thank you for this app!
