Love this app- months later after initial review I stii really enjoy this app. I'd like to see a few more color combos- or ability to create some custom color pallets woldl rock! Also being able to do some masking and/or erasing would bring me to rhe heights creative joy! Hopefully an update will add that ability. I'd certainly pay something to be able to fine tune the image as in app perc... So to speak.
This app is totally addictive. Almost toooo addictive. You can wind up with a half a dozen ( or way- way- wayyyy more) of the same image. To the point of, I think friends on various social and sharing sites may get annoyed. It really is hard to choose just one- ( or six)
The only thing I'd like to see added is a way to mask out certain areas- particularly faces. I don't even know if something like that would be possible. Maybe next update?
I know I said only one thing I'd add but sliders for contrast/hue etc would be a great perk (no pun intended!) but I just import the percolated pic into another app and fine tune it and/or texture, frames and other effects.
I just downloaded Popsicolor from this developer and am now going to see what it can do with a percolated photo.

I only review apps that impress me completely, or utterly fail to work as advertised. I'm happy to say, this app is of the former variety: it's amazing. I have Percolated so many photos and sent them to friends and posted them on Instagram and Facebook that my pals are probably getting sick of it -- but it's just SO FUN! There are MANY MANY different options, so it'll take a little while for you to find the mixture of options that works best for you. But that's a GOOD thing -- it's easy to use and FUN FUN FUN! Enjoy. This is an incredibly clever app, and if you're into math or science or just art and photography, you'll appreciate the cool things going on behind the scenes as the Percolator works. Fun to use if you have a lot of time...
...to play and can deal with total unpredictability. I love the app and I love playing it, but I far spend too much time testing to discover which photos will actually shine after being processed. Most any balanced composition will render a rich abstract brew, but rendering something special out of more complex subjects is tough. Although I love the straight abstractions, my heart lies elsewhere. I was drawn to the app because of the woman and carousel samples posted here in the app store, but results anywhere near being on par with those striking examples require a lot of playing around and sifting through dozens of photos. Complex or subdued pictures often also benefit from pre- or post-processing in other apps because retaining any favorite detail in a brew is a tricky proposition. If you can give up time from the family, however, get yourself this app.mShow less25thAnnual
My Favorite Toy!
Update: I've had this app for a few more months and still haven't "mastered" it, and to tell you the truth, I don't want to. Playing around is the thing I love most about it and if I knew how to get exactly what I thought I wanted, I'd get bored. Instead I'm always surprised, so I keep coming back for another cup!
When I'm bored and have a few minutes to kill, I choose a pic from my Camera Roll and start playing around with Percolator. What's the most: unique, life-like, distorted...whatever! can I make this shot into? Can I come up with something I'd call ART with a shot that wasn't anything special before I started? I love that I can't truly control the final result no matter how hard I try. Maybe not the most practical photo app, but definitely the most creative and artistic. There should be more of this genre of app of quality out there. YAY PERCOLATOR!Show lessBacked.by.Buddha
