A great way to sell a car!

I am pleased with Carsales app as an excellent way to communicate to a wide audience to sell a car.

The app guides you well through the detail of requirements and information needed to attract interest.
It provides clues and tips to make your ad as appealing as possible. The app rates your ad against others and provides an estimate of success, so you can continue to improve your ad and make your car marketable.

Communication with buyers is through the app and you can determine how much personal info you want to share publicly. Buyers like sellers must set up profiles increasing their credibility as everyone on the app are strangers (at first). I felt confident with enquiries I received through the app.

I am very pleased with the result of my car sale and would recommend the app particularly if you’ve never sold a car privately before.

Poor Search Function

The biggest problem is The search program is I have had 94 cars. I’m looking to buy a 4 x 2 Ute automatic 2020 model when I try and Select those three items for my search. I am unable to and it gives me results for all sorts of cars, also it would be good if you could lock in your location so every time you open the app you do not have to put in your Postcode and said your search radius. also have a problem with certain sellers who have dealerships in every state and advertise the car as being local in Brisbane only to find out that it is in Melbourne but they will freight it up for free if you buy it site unseen

Hi, I have tried replicating the search you described and it looks like there are currently no active listings for vehicles that match your search criteria. In regards to locking in your location, you can try using the 'Save Search' feature, this will also notify you of any new listings that match your search. In regards to dealer listings appearing in the wrong state, please report these to us at customercare@carsales.com.au so that we can review them further. Thanks

User Experience just got worse

I’ve been using this app for 4 years. My browsing experience changes every quarter yearly. For some reason there is a desperate need to change even the slightest piece of UI in the screen. As a result of the recent UI update, there’s unnecessary amount of animations, drawers, the image view modal feels very buggy (when I try to zoom in, often times it just exists unexpectedly). Also give me the option to view all of the images as a bento grid…usually when I browse for the same model of cars, I want to quickly browse for specific images. Don’t force me to swipe, it’s annoying. In terms of user tracking and what percentage of users make use of a feature needs more attention because I was happy using a feature that saved me time.

The simple components this app had before the update was already enough, the main issue in iOS was over heating my phone after 30 mins of use and some other bugs with interaction and performance.

This is my explicit feedback as a IOS user.

Latest update needs refinement

Latest update has crashed and won’t open app.

Please bring back the ability to scroll through the pictures in the reviews section without having to tap the image itself in this latest update. Similar to the buy / sell section where you can scroll through the pictures without having to tap in the picture itself. Having one less step to see the pictures results in a better UX than this extra step to quickly see the pictures.

Really the the information

Just a great understanding brings to the car market….

Have owned some very nice vehicles in my time and looking to expand before the government makes it like demolition man the movie for all not in the loop….

I guess what I’m saying Ford & Holden have been taken & know the is a change that is going to happen and really make it hard for any person in Australia own anything that is not new or up to new regulations with big taxes for all car owners regardless off what it is …. Let’s hope the public transport industry is up for the up scale for all needing the ride from A-B 🫣. I’m sure the government has the plans 😉😂😂😂

Doesn’t work correctly with iCloud private relay or VPN

When using iCloud private relay or a VPN, the app will display “Enquire for price” for every listing. This is a conscious design decision made by the developer, they have a help page telling people to disable their VPN. It’s basically impossible to use if you care about your own privacy.

I bypassed the forced app update pop ups

This Carsales app works on semi old software version that so called dropped support. They do it on purpose so you can update your device to the latest snail and then eventually buying a new device. No thanks. This developer is trash for re- enforcing this. Stop deleting my review I will keep copying and pasting from now one with a bit of a button.

Okay tell me what feature this carsales app needs that requires the minimum iOS app version? You want as much audience as you can get, these blokes have old devices on iOS 10/12 which is still good! You should remove the pop that “the app can’t be used” because that’s full of lies I can bypass it and it’s fully functional not everyone can do this but I like to bring this awareness about the the developers just how everything is getting exposed in the media!

App Error 404

App will not load, says Error 404, with refresh button , hitting refresh just produces the same error over and over, tied multiple devices with same result , please fix the app. Thank you

Heartbroken

We purchased a BMW X5 and didn’t even get it home before transmission failed.
The owner was sneaky and used a false address. And wouldn’t let us test drive it more than around the block supposedly cause needed fuel. Not do once we got it on the freeway. They have used putty under cloth to cover up worn leather and my god what a sticky mess. Never buy a car not from a dealer again. Had to get a car trailer to get it home. Now I’m thousands and thousands of dollars out of pocket and still without a vehicle.
