  • Best weekly spelling tool

This app is fantastic. I record my kids spelling words at the beginning of the week, use the different colored pens to break the words into syllables and to point out rules, then let them review the words daily. I can monitor how much time they have spent and how they go in the review test. As a Primary Teacher I think this is a great way to teach kids to break down words and learn to spell :-)
I would like more choice of colored pens please!

  • Awesome for adult improving spelling.

What I love about this app is that you create your own quiz words, can easily share with others and it doesn't look too childish. This makes it great for adults trying to improve spelling.
  • Great engagement

I saw this as a link from the maths buddy app, and could see from the screenshots that it looked *very* promising. A superb app for creating and monitoring how children progress on weekly spellings. The ability to record the word as well as add and record a contextual phrase is brilliant.

Although I am a bit miffed at paying paying extra for the buddy app for her to practise on my ipod, this ability to share quizzes over devices (with files, email or bluetooth) is an extremely useful addition. Now I can do this as a weekly task on my iPad and she can work through it at her own pace.

    GREAT APP

  • Spell board

Disappointing...so much work is involved in creating the tests yourself it defeats the whole purpose of having the app
  • Great program, but ...

I was looking forward to a program like this for my son. It's an interesting and well-built app. However, it definitely needs more words. Also, it should be easier to add the words to the quiz (one shouldn't have to scroll the grade level each and every time to find one word). Keep those improvements coming. Good app!

  • My 5th grader loves this app

This app is a must for parents and kids! There is room for improvement, but this app lets you type in spelling lists and voice record the word and/or definition. It allows the student to practice before the test and type or write the answer. This app is well worth the money!
  • How can learning be so much fun

I purchased this for my 6 yr old . Every week learning our new spelling words was torture . I saw this and decided it was worth the $4.99 . She set up her new words for the week and wow she thought it was the greatest. She can make her own sentences with her new words (in her own voice). She practiced the words 5 times and then had to show dad how much fun it was. It's a must buy and it allows fun learning time with your children.

  • Love it for my first grader!

This is a really cool app! I love the voice recording. I also love how they can practice before they take a quiz. I can program as many weeks of quizzes that I'd like. The definition of the word if needed was an added bonus that I didn't expect. Worth the money in my opinion!!
  • Would easily be a 5 star app if they preloaded more words

Palaware, please please add more word list to be downloaded. This is a very powerful app. Easy to create customized spelling list, add your words, record your voice for definitions and spelling words. But will less than 250 default words, they put most of the work back in your lap. The "white board" is a great addition to this app over others.

  • Expected better

I was really enthused about this app when I read about it. I thought it would be a great study tool for my son who has weekly spelling tests. It was expensive but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I find that it falls short. The biggest frustration is that the keyboard sometimes disappears during the test and the nay thing you can do is stop the test and start over. My son has given up on this app due to this problem, he gets very frustrated. Also, there is no way to actually view a test after it has been taken. Due to the keyboard problem, I was attempting to see which words he had done and which he didn't and it only tells you that he didn't attempt all the words, but it doesn't tell you which ones were not done and which ones were done. I give them kudos for the effort. The concept is great, but I think the app just isn't mature, and as such, they really should lower the price. Its expensive for what you get...
