Needs Sound

I would like to hear the words.

Disappointing

Disappointing. No audio for expressions and words. Only audio is in quiz- "mazeltov" and "oy vey".

Needs More Work

Great concept, needs many more entries to be useful. Hopefully they'll have updates soon. A few bugs here and there as well.

Don't buy it

It's not worth anything to those who know even the most basis Yiddish slang.

does not open

um, could you all fix this? i have been charged for this app ($1.99), and it briefly flashes when I try to open it, then closes. so don't buy this until the developers fix it. I will post when it is fixed, because, like I said, it WILL BE a cool app.

Very, very little for Β£1.19

What's there is ok - but it is really just a list of 100 or so words.

Too little effort

Glossary is VERY small. The author needs to read Leo Rosten and add lots more words and expressions.

This would be a good app if it had more words...

This would be a good app if it had more words. Like at least 10 times more words. It's called a "slang" dictionary, but except insofar as much Yiddish is treated as slang in the English-speaking world it's really just another dictionary... without a lot of words.

The interface is much nicer than other Yiddish dictionary apps and the quiz could be very good if it didn't repeat words so often due to the paucity of words/definitions. There are a few interface quirks, such as the lack of an obvious way to advance from one question to the next in the quiz and that should be addressed beyond this 1.0 release.

For all of its deficits, the $2.99 price tag is absurd. This app does not provide $2.99 worth of value at this time. I suggest waiting until the author adds many more words and fixes the quiz before even considering purchasing this app.
