But it really needs to work on its search mechanics, it’s so incredibly hard to find a certain genre! My account is still there I just can’t connect it and i’m hoping its something that can be fixed. So far this is a great app. I say for anyone downloading an Ao3 app they should opt for this one since the reviews for other app were accurate an it was not worth a download. And till further notice i think this is by far the best one. **Developer response:** Hi, 3AM currently does not support connecting your AO3 account, however if you have public content like works and public bookmarks you can search for your AO3 user profile on the “Following” tab and access them from there. I can’t refresh or delete stories from it. It doesn’t scroll through all of the stories without completed freezing up either. Up until the newest update it was perfect though. They finally added text to speech which was the only thing holding it back for me. So once they fix this bug, it’s be perfect. Even the price isn’t bad. Even though FFN is free and has better text to speech in my opinion. I did have some trouble where I hade to close out the app a few times because it wouldn’t let me tap anything, which started when I tried to get into a fic from my library. Other than that, amazing! One this I’d like to be added is being able to click the links to see fan art and not have to copy the link, but that’s more just a pet peeve. Anyway, great app! It’s been like a week and I’ve been using it everyday. The perks aren’t really worth it for me at this time, but there’s no ads it will read and save all my fics so I’m very pleased. I have reloaded the app and it showed me the subscription page skipped it again and had the same problem. Either the app is broken for me or you can not use this app without signing up for a subscription. **Developer response:** The app works without a subscription. Just that Ao3 was down yesterday so the app couldn’t load any content and you were stuck in onboarding. You can definitely use the app without a subscription and it is ad-free. It’s the tab with the gear icon and then try the dropdown menus until you see English in the options. ### 2/5 — I love it but I can’t use the actual app *2024-09-03* So I’ve been using AO3 on safari for two days, and I found out they had a physical app which I was excited for, I downloaded it, yet it doesn’t work for me, when it has the fandom thing when you first download it, it just keeps saying retry and nothing pops up, please fix that. The app should work normally now! ### 3/5 — Feed feature feels limiting *2024-12-24* This app works great for reading on AO3, but as someone who isn’t interested in a lot of fandoms I feel that forcing the user to search within certain canons or ships is limiting. I don’t understand why the main search feature can’t be more like AO3’s search where we can search all stories at once. But lately whenever i open my library the screen completely freezes, i can’t open any other tabs or open my stories. I try refreshing the app and it takes me 2-3 chapters back, then I’m stuck trying to click next chapter again. Literally my only issue. Example: when you go to an authors page, it would be nice to be able to further search for a specific title. The three “filters” work okay, but not when the author has multiple works. I like that you can put work into collections. It would also be cool if the collections gave you recommendations for similar works. ### 3/5 — Review *2024-10-13* I’ve only had the app for 24 hours but the format is really nice, the biggest complaint I have is the listing feature. I do audiobooks and even though there are many voices to choose from they are far to robotic to enjoy. **Developer response:** Thank you for writing a review! The tts is powered by the same voices used by your device’s accessibility system, which provides good privacy and does not rely on internet connection. But… *2024-12-26* This reader is wonderful! Perfectly organized, fluid, responsive, useful, extremely helpful when reading! However, there are only two things I dislike: the lack of ability to download, which I could just as easily do myself on AO3 for free, and the inability to access or log in to my ao3 account if I could. It could allow me to transfer over marked later lists, bookmarks, and management of works, although I recognize this is a reader. **Developer response:** Thank you, glad to hear you enjoyed the app!
