That’s pretty annoying but I still recommend this game. Plus you can’t castle. ### 2/5 — Not Working *2024-03-11, version 5.0.6* I haven’t been able to get the app to connect in the last 3 days! It just spins when it starts and never collects. ### 1/5 — You have to watch an Ad after every game before a new match. *2024-02-04, version 5.0.6* After every game, when you start a new match, an App Store video appears. There is an option in the upper right window to “skip video”, but when pressed it only pauses the video and offers a button to “Get” the game being advertised. It wont go away unless you get the game or swipe out of the chess app altogether and wait for a minute. I haven’t found any way to turn this off, and I’m guessing there is none, and that this is the price you pay for a really cool App that is totally “free”, and doesn’t track your personal info… If I’m wrong Devs, please drop me a line and I will be happy to change my rating from 1 star to 5. If is possible to promote to a knight instead of to a queen I have not been able to figure out how to do it. 3. Just recently someone has fixed something which wasn’t broke, and now it is broke. There is a new very artistic way cool introductory screen replacing the old one. Now the new first screen will not go away and allow me to see the main board, menu, or anything else other than the very cool introductory screen. The chess game is now unavailable and cannot be played. Please return it to how it was, a very useful practice engine. Plays a good defensive game. It keeps using the same defense as black over and over again, without fail, in every single opening until like level 15 (out of 25) difficulty, doesn’t know how to trade material, and is so pathetically blunder-happy that even the HIGHEST DIFFICULTY LEVEL doesn’t know how to do a king-and-queen mate without blundering the latter and drawing. The only thing is I wish it had was a moves recorder so I could study what I did. Even for just the previous game. The graphics on here are really good and I have gotten significantly better at playing against humans since playing this game. I’ve had it for years. It really got me back into playing chess again.
