Just a dead end do loop of nothingness. Very annoying that it worked fine for months and then suddenly can’t launch my plans. ### 2/5 — Great idea, poor execution *2024-06-01, version 20.0.0* When we approached our architect one of their selling points was an interactive 3d model of our home we could reference at any time during the building process. The first couple of times it worked great but then I had memory issues. I can no longer open it on a computer and it only loads half the time on my phone. I have cleared any unnecessary space from my devices and still get the memory error. It’s extremely frustrating now that we are in the building process and can’t reference what we paid for. ### 2/5 — AR in full scale *2024-02-19, version 20.0.0* Augmented reality where the model would open up in full scale would be great. I suppose with enough practice a person could manage to get some idea of what the design looks like. It only finds one spot to begin the simulation. The execution on the walkthrough mode could use some updates, it is below par compared to other AR apps which have improved greatly in the last 3 years. Best, Chief Architect Software ### 2/5 — Useless for me *2022-01-15, version 20.0.0* US as usually behind from the rest of the world when it comes using more efficient apps and drives. A lot more people use google drive than Dropbox. I don’t even use Dropbox anymore and unfortunately can’t upload my 3D file from google drive because there is no option for that. So, till they add a button for google drive this app is useless for me. Hope you will improve it and add another google drive option. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cannot View Plan on IPad (not good) *2026-01-09, version 25.3.0* Can we give it a zero? I have Home Designer Pro… Thought I could view plan and perspectives on the IPad. Haven’t be able to get it to work. I’ll give it a one as there isn’t a zero option. Also, I would prefer that when I allow access to my Dropbox, it is only for one folder, not a full scan of my environment. Also looked online and there are no instructions on how to open a file sent to you on the Chief Architect website, they only address files that the user created, not ones sent to view that does not use Chief Architect. Can someone please tell me how to open these files. ### 1/5 — COMPLETELY USELESS *2024-10-07, version 24.3.0* We are paying a designer well to design our home, and we have not been able to see their work in the Chief Architect 3-D viewer. We have tried to upload files using links, OneDrive, and Dropbox, and we have been completely unsuccessful at getting a file into an iPad. There is no useful help function, and the software is incompetent. We started the design of the house in other 3-D design software, which was infinitely more useful and user-friendly. It does take some learning to understand how the app works, like turning on the shadows and the surfaces. The main purpose of Chief Architect is producing the final product which is the layout plan set. This is simply an additional way for clients to see their project as it was last rendered. We use it often. Or, a very reasonable facsimile. Is it perfect? No. Does it do what I need it to do? In most cases, yes. Does it have limitations?
