Eventually after I wrote a critical review customer support finally got back to me and made numerous attempts to solve my problem. I appreciated their effort. None worked but eventually an update of the app (about a month later). Fixed my problem. Thanks for the effort.
OLD REVIEW: I purchased the suite of apps (Genius Scan and Genius Sign) a number of years ago and was very happy with them for a long time. They worked perfectly and most of the updates were easy to navigate.
A couple weeks ago I updated the app and all of the sudden is would not open. Now all of my documents stored on my phone are inaccessible. I went to their website and their only suggestion is to complete a full restore of the phone from a complete backup. Of course, a) this is incredibly inconvenient, and b) is a moot point anyway because if the app won’t open in the first place, there’s no way I’ll be able to access the documents anyway if the app won’t open.
Submitted my problem to the developer...no response.
Apple Notes now has most of the functionality of Genius Scan now and I know their support is responsive. Will stick to iOS native apps for this stuff in the future. Pretty disappointed as I was a loyal customer for a long time...Show lessFred6733
Favourite Enterprise App

I love this app so much! I'm surprised there isn't any recent reviews. It's helped me so many times when I'm doing documents on the fly and need to send them right away!
My favourite from The Grizzly Labs was having the ability to purchase the package deal with Genius Scan Enterprise and Genius Sign; I've recommended them to colleagues... However I must admit that some of my colleagues tend to like the old-fashioned way since they're comfortable with it, but for me, I like to lessen my paper trail when I can.
The features I would love would be the ability to circle categories on a PDF or have a feature to hand-write something.
And when you build that, can you include "pressure" sensitivity to make the writing more "human"? I've had documents declined by the recipient because they were electronically signed (it needs to show imperfections to prove it was signed with a physical pen).
I know Notes on the iPad has the ability to sense how hard a person presses when using the pencil and pen feature. I was hoping to have this ability for Genius Sign.

Fast and powerful.
With the latest update, this program is much faster and easier to use. It maps for photograph automatically. Also, it adds to a current document much more easily as well. As a realtor, I keep closing statement, receipt, and all kinds of things on my Genius scan. It is like having my office with me everywhere I go. It also makes it much easier to share with others. Amazing app I Use ALL the time
I’ve been using Genius Scan+ for a long time and it is exceptional in its ability to capture texts from the size of business cards to large documents. It’s also got a new capability to convert the scan PDF files into text.! Amazing! I do a lot of reading so I capture a lot of text for later review. I prefer this app on my phone over any other PDF app I have found for my PC. I recommend it to all my friends.
It would be nice if I could select the old documents I want to extract a text from instead Of having to choose between extracting text from all my old documents or none of old my documents.

Awesome Scan Application.
I have used many scan apps but the simplicity and effectiveness is this app makes it my favorite. I particularly like that I can export the file as a pdf file to other apps like Dropbox and Evernote to name a few and password protect it as well. What a life saver!!!
While I love Genius Scan, and I have & do recommend it, I’m not liking the changes inthis particular version.
I don’t like my default document name is selected when going to rename the document. 99.9% of my documents begin with the same prefix, and I have to add the remainder to make the name unique.
When sending docs via email, the app used to make a whooshing sound when it was sent. Now, no sound at all.
Also, that same email is ready when it comes up on my screen. I shouldn’t have to scroll the doc up and down, then answer the save-delete-cancel question in order to make the send button appear.

Simple & effective scan app
I have used this for a few years. I scan docs periodically but not all the time, so wanted a simple, free/one-time cost app. GeniusScan Plus scans without much finagling, allows necessary adjustments, saves to pdf, and posts to my cloud storage sites.
- Simple enough that I don’t cringe when I use it after a long hiatus
- Some update features I like, some I dont. Right now, it seems I have to choose source for every new page in a batch I scan from phone camera, which is irritating. Maybe I didn’t see the latest requirement to batch-scan, which they noodle with.Show lessjdexe
WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING?
Bought this app about a year ago and it was perfect as-is however every new update takes away from what made me love it, and now this last update is ridiculous. When uploading, I used to be able to fill in the “Title” portion so easily by simply clicking the “x” and typing what I needed. Now the “x” is gone and I have to delete everything individually, and then every time I type, a period is being placed after the last thing I type, when I hit the space bar. Worth paying $29/yr for the sync features
I used the free version of this and other grizzly apps for quite a while, they work great. It’s worth paying for the app bundle and $29/yr for all the sync / share features. I use this app every day on iPad and iPhone for construction site Inspections/Reports, without the sync between devices I’d really have to pick just one to keep everything accessible.Show lessDFW Superintendent
I have loved this app until today
Love using this app. Very helpful. But today, I discovered something that is making me feel ill. After using the app to scan hundreds of pages of an old, fragile, handwritten notebook lent to me by a teacher, saving a new pdf about every 50 pages, I went to merge the PDFs together. I assumed I would be asked during the process the order in which I wanted the PDFs to be merged, but I never was! Also, while not essential, it would have been nice if copies of the multiple PDFs were kept as backups in addition to the merged PDF being created.
I borrowed that notebook, so I cannot reference it to ensure the pages are in order. But that’s beside the point. How can there be a merge feature that haphazardly merges the PDFs together? Useless. Here’s to hours wasted.
While I’m leaving a review, I’ll also note that it would be nice if the crop feature had an axis tilt option like iOS Photos has.
Other than the merge disaster, I’ve really enjoyed this app...hence my trust that merge feature would make sense....Show lessrb116
