Very bad
I'm an assistive technology trainer. we have tried this app on multiple supported devices for multiple users. we have never been able to consistently get good results. I'm rating this app 1 out of 5 because it is unreliable unstable and not able to be used in a way that's comfortable for most users. as stated in the later review it uses the picture mode rather than the video mode.

Concept is Good, but...
My brother is blind and told me about this app. I downloaded it to try it out. The concept is good, but out of multiple times I scanned bills it had errors and misidentified a 10 as a 5 and a twenty as a 50. Needs some tweaking to get more than 2 stars.
Clunky interface and frequent errors
Very glad the bureau thought of doing this, but they should have researched existing apps first. MoneyReader is an app available on the app store, and it is way easier to use and more reliable than EyeNote. MoneyReader isn't free, but it is well-worth a couple of bucks. MoneyReader uses video mode instead of camera mode, so there is no need to keep tapping the phone to read a bill -- when you point the camera at a note, the phone identifies it immediately and reliably. The bureau should have done this as well, or maybe just bought the app outright and made it free to us. For folks who need a bill identifier, I strongly recommend MoneyReader instead of this. I have also found that EyeNote has trouble with bills that MoneyReader identifies immediately.

More proof…
…that the iPhone is one of the most useful assistive devices to come along in some time. I'm visually-handicapped, and I've tried many of the existing "gadgets" out there to assist me. While I suspect that my iPhone won't be able to tell me when a glass is full (maybe it could, using the video camera), it certainly helps in other areas - navigation, reading articles, books, etc. This app is proof that the potential runs deep. Now, if someone would write one to recognize colors better than the handheld device I have now…
