Leave a Review Papa Johns Pizza & Delivery
Papa app
Kind of clunky. Not always intuitive to find the best deal or be clear on what is going on. The app designers need to consider the situations in which people order pizza in order to optimize the experience. For instance, a confirmation at checkout of destination and origin store. Sometimes I’m working nights at the office ordering from a store in one county, other times the wife and kids want delivery to the neighborhood pool, and then the standard home delivery. We’ve had to call to cancel when we realized we had ordered from the wrong store because it automatically puts the most recent location and delivery address in by default. Also, they’re missing out on ways to prompt purchasing. Sometimes it’s a narrow debate about whether there is enough hunger in household to justify an extra pizza vs a side of breadsticks. Promos that up sell sides at a discount when combined with a specialty pizza etc, would induce more sales I reckon. Overall the app does what you expect but it isn’t one of those apps that astounds with how user friendly it is.Show lessGreat pizza - but app is a scandal
I’ve been eating at PJ’s for decades - their app is great with their “papa track” functionality (to see if your pizza is ready)…. But today I noticed they’ve preyed on all their customers with a fake percentage tips. I don’t know how long it’s been this way, but the percentages are very skewed - No matter what I add to my cart, even the 15% tip is off by a large margin… it gets worse as you increase the tip percentage. The 25% option is actually close to 33-35% for my order today which is why I noticed for such a small order, why is my “25%” tip costing me a third or more of my order? Is this their app programmer taking a little off the top for themselves, or is Papa being greedy and hoping people won’t notice their “tip” isn’t accurate to the percentage button they are clicking? Seems a lot of people either refuse to tip or “over tip” and I really hated to find out that the app is preying on those who click the 25% button to support their local workers of great pizza pie. I wonder if Papa is aware or if it’s all some heinous unethical scandal. I mean it’s a tip, so we can’t sue for inaccurate pricing, it’s literally us giving them free money to help pay their workers as a thank you, but with the app doing your “percent” math wrong, in this day and age, isn’t an accident - it’s malicious. Now I don’t even trust leaving tips in any apps - how do we KNOW the workers are even getting the right amounts? Crime.Show lessFirst time using app….. never again
We’ve ordered from papa johns for years and usually just use the website. Decided to try out the app and I wish I never had. Placed my order via the app around 5:45 pm. Here I am almost an hour later with a screaming toddler and my order still isn’t ready. My husband called to check on the order as he was picking it up. They told him they didn’t have any order with that order number. So I called to try and figure out what was going on. 10 mins on hold and finally someone came in to tell me that my order had gotten routed to the call center and got stuck there. They did start on it right away (I believe) and shortly after that I al of a sudden has an update letting me know that my order was ready. Lo and behold, my husband went in and it wasn’t ready. Almost 15 mins after I got the notification was my order was finally ready. Still enjoy papa johns for their pizza but am not too keen on using the app again. Seems to be some poor communication in the system somewhere.Show less
