Always use 3rd party apps

otherwise you’ll get even more scammed. These companies have zero way to refund your order other than driving all the way back. 3rd party services help within the app so you don’t lose more money by having to use gas money to physically refund everything. The apps should be setup to handle order issues.

I have reset which location i want my order delivered from and the app kept switching it to a location that not only screws up orders but we all get sick everytime. As i’m waiting for the order, i see the address once again changed on its own. The locations all in the same city too within 2mi so not out of range either. This is the last time I use the app or any company app for orders. It’s not worth the hassle when they inevitably screw up. Even their customer service for the company like most big companies is a joke. When jimmy started, service was better than most establishments and now they’re like any other chain where you’re lucky to find a good location. Goodbye to the app and jimmy john for a while. I’m sure they’ll give a crap in 5 years when someone can’t buy their 3rd yacht.

Not impressed anymore

Last year I was ordering JJ’s at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. But over the course of the year the quality of food slowly went down so I stopped ordering. I always loved how quick I got my food and of course I loved the food for a while until things started being missing or they threw it together like a toddler made the sandwich even during non-busy lunch rushes. So fast forward to now and I decided it sounded good and it’s been about a year since I ordered. They’ve now decided to outsource delivery to Uber Eats. Who NEVER pay attention to my directions on how to find my apartment so half the time they go to the wrong place. Nor do they read where I’ve asked it to be left at the door and then knock causing my dog to bark and me to have to jump up immediately while in a meeting. Unfortunately I have to delete the app and stop ordering from them again.

Already deleted App

I installed the app this morning and deleted it this afternoon. I ordered through the app for our local Jimmy John’s, (Kirksville, MO.)and selected the “as soon as possible “ time. Twenty plus minutes later, when I arrived and asked about the order, they said they would try to get to it in 15 minutes or so, after they had taken care of everyone in the restaurant. The manager wasn’t particularly pleasant about it either. Meanwhile, people who came in after me are getting their sandwiches. What’s the point of the app? Forty minutes to get a sandwich? That doesn’t meet the threshold for “freaky fast” in my opinion.
I ended up canceling the order because my family was planning to meet there for lunch. Schedules didn’t allow for an indefinite wait. We ate at McDonald’s. I would have far preferred Jimmy John’s, but after this experience it’s off our menu. Unless we’re in a different town, maybe. Anyway, I hope you have better luck than I did.

Poorly made sandwich because it is free

I received a free sandwich and boy was I excited.
I rushed out to my local restaurant and made the purchase. I had received a free sandwich before and went into the restaurant to get my sandwich, let me tell you it was not easy. The young lady was very rude and said she didn’t know anything about the app and refused to even look at it. She was very rude. I think I stayed in the restaurant for 30 minutes or more trying to redeem my sandwich. The manager finally came in and worked out the free sandwich. The free sandwich offered comes in my email, the manager said he had helped me with the before and was not going to do it again. I pulled up the offer in my email and let him see it, he was not impressed and let me know he remembered me and that free sandwiches didn’t come that often. And he was not going to do that again. Well I was able to get the phone number and fix the app again. So I received the sandwich but it was poorly made. I couldn’t find the meat that was supposed to be on the sandwich. If the restaurant has too give you a sandwich it will not be the same quality. I am not going back to the sharp language and poor customer service that I received just because I received a free sandwich.

So So

Over all it is a good app… biggest draw back is that it appears you can only use a gift card if you enter it at check out. But you can’t use the gift card unless the gift card covers your entire balance. Hard to believe that in 2023 Jimmy Johns lacks the ability to handle split payments or store gift cards. I tried to use a gift card twice over 5 years, you pretty much have to call in your order. Prices are too high to cover a standard gift card and staffing is low so dumb you have to call and order…disappointed that it has been years with out any change. I am giving away any future gift cards bout as useful as toilet paper. Also your favorites don’t tend to be usable at different locations. You have to enter you orders frequently instead of just adding to cart. I can look past the staffing as they are no longer freaky fast… but the programming makes no sense!

Jimmy John’s is great, the app needs improvement

I order Jimmy John’s a few times a month, mostly for delivery but sometimes pickup. My experience with the delivery side of things has not been stellar. There is no way to track the order using the app, the company just sends notifications to your mobile phone. I also had an incident where the delivery person took my order to a completely different building and luckily we were able to resolve the situation on the phone but it caused a significant delay and I’m not sure whose hands my food was in before it got to me since the delivery person left the order with building security of the other building. I feel like if there was in-app tracking, it could have prevented this situation or helped resolve it more quickly. I also don’t like that there isn’t a page for customer service in the app. It would be nice to have a way to communicate any issues or comments or compliments through the app. I also dislike that the delivery person and customer get access to each others personal mobile numbers opening them up to potential unwanted contact. There should be a separation in my opinion.

On time deliveries

Since most deliveries are done through door dash and ubereats with other gig deliveries apps, this is my opinion and my opinion only. There is really no point on complaining about delivery. They are done by gig drivers who have the option to accept or reject the offer. If there is a $0.00 tip (personally I don’t see it as a tip, more of a service fee, gas time and traffic) door dash and Uber eats offer around $2.00 to go up to 8 miles during heavy traffic which can take up to 30 minutes. Would you work for $4.00 an hour. And out of that $4.00 an hour, subtract the never ending price of gas rising. Would you work for free to deliver food for a person who has said you didn’t deliver their food after you handed it to them. Do you now understand why I personally won’t except offer under a certain number.

Jimmy Johnson Gobbler

Hello my fellow jimmy gobblers. I’m Zachary from Jacksonville florida and Jimmy Johns is my favorite edible thing on the planet earth. You name the sandwich and I’ve had it multiple times. It’s hard to pick my favorite but I just love having the worst breath so I typically get the tuna Tom with extra jimmy sauce on my buns mmmmm yeah. I’ve been in rehab multiple times for over eating jimmy and my life has gone to complete financial ruin. My parents cut me off and my girlfriend left me because she found me making love to a number #12 with extra mayo (for lubification purposes). All in all I feel like my jimmy johns journey has just begun. And it can for you too. This app changed my entire outlook on life. I have the full menu Infront of me 24/7 and can have it delivered to me instantly. Some may call this reckless but I call it living life to the fullest. Take care and stay hungry.

Great, except for…

I am a long-time order-er of JJs sándwiches using the app and I usually get Freaky Fast deliveries that are accurate and delicious. This past time though, I experienced an unusual issue that JJs as a whole company needs to address in my opinion.

As part of my last order, I added a 22oz fountain drink, which I have done with no issue on previous orders from this location. However, this time around, instead of getting the correct fountain drink, I got a 12oz CAN… When I talked to the restaurant about it, they acted as if it was correct to make this swap. Indeed, according to their receipt, it makes no mention of my drink being a specific size other than “(med)”. According to the individuals at the store that I spoke to, “med” apparently means can or 16 oz…. This is an issue when a customer is paying for a larger amount of beverage and gets less for the same price. I will not be giving JJs as much business in the future because of this bungled customer experience.
