Great App to get around a new city
Really loved this app. Travelling alone in Saigon and using the app to navigate the city was a treat.

Definitely not Lonely Planet.
Tried it for three days free. Brussels wasn’t bad but London sucked. Cancelled it on day two. The advice is amateurish, the software is clunky. Could have been good but it isn’t.

Mediterranean Cruise
Used it in every port on a 25 day cruise. Was much better than the guided tours from the cruise lines for $$$. Does not need data once the walks are downloaded on ship’s wifi.

GPSmyCity
Really useful app that recommends attractions and walking routes around cities. I’ve used it in multiple cities to plan walking routes to ensure I see the top attractions. It also provides concise, informative information on each attraction, monuments, place of interest etc and an easy and accurate live route guidance between each point that you can customise beforehand or as you go, well worth upgrading to enable these options & would highly recommend.

Great For Europe
The app has been great for my Europe travels. I used it in cities that I had not visited before and worked out great! The walks are designed well and are informative and interesting. The info about each sight is sufficient and not unnecessarily long. Overall, would highly recommend.

Great app covering so many towns / Countries across the World. Great value.
I have a paid subscription which is great value for money if you enjoy walking tours to explore new towns and Cities across the World. The paid functionality allows you to create your own tours that reflect your interests too. In large towns / Cities there is a large variety of pre populated themed special interest tours - for example Food and Graffiti. Unprompted, the developer seeks direct feedback from users, listens and updates the app to improve usability too. If you have tried the app before it is worth a second look as the functionality is much improved following the last update and the maps much easier to use. It's worth exploring all of the app functionality as a paid subscription member - not just the standard walks. Highly recommended.

Great go-to travel app
My wife and I are fortunate to be able to travel the world on vacation a lot. For example, two world cruises in the past 18 months. For walkable cities that exist on the app, which is an awful lot of them, this app is terrific. There are pre-loaded “walks,” or you can customize from a list of sites. The app will put the sites in the most efficient order — just tell it where to start. You get 2-4 paragraphs describing each site (just enough), and gps-based walking directions (plus distance info). Best of all, so long as you have internet when you download the walk in your hotel/cruise ship, you DON’T need internet while you walk around — the gps still works. Well worth the price to get the upgraded version.

Thank you for the review! The app is designed to be used offline so one does not need to pay for roaming. As long as you download the city guides at home or hotel or any place where there is wifi, the app works offline afterwards.

I was sick of using web browsers to find local attractions and being hit with pages of paid adds and no useful information on where to go and what to see.
When touring cities GPSMyCity offers great advice on what to see and information on what you are looking at. It will give you a walking route and has a canny knack of walking a slight detour to pick up a great view or a special building or square you are glad you saw.
I have used the app to tour Munich, Verona, Milan, Prague, Karlovy Vary and more. It was always useful.
Do carry a spare battery with you as you will want your phone on all day to extract the information and guidance.
