### 4/5 — Good practice game

*2026-08-19, version 3.1*

I like that I have the paid version so no ads and it’s uses a low amount of energy to play.

### 2/5 — Nice game

*2026-08-14, version 3.1*

Play style need work partner will lead or play 6 4 when he has 6 6 or when the opponent has the trick setting me on both

### 2/5 — Fun but not too 42 smart

*2026-07-30, version 3.1*

The game as played for free, is so so dumb.

Bids with only 2 trumps
Will bid with 5 - 0 blind off
Plays trumps all the way out first
Partner won’t throw you points at time that would be helpful
Partner plays points when you likely will lose a trick
Etc. etc.

### 3/5 — CPU doesn’t play by book

*2026-07-22, version 3.1*

It’s alright but your CPU partner does not play by the standard rules partners should play by making play confusing and hard. As well your partner will consistently out bid you and lose

### 3/5 — It’s okay

*2026-07-21, version 3.1*

The game moves well and is a good ‘bid based’ challenge. Sometimes my partner makes worse mistakes than I do.

### 3/5 — Very Buggy, Freezes

*2026-07-13, version 3.1*

Has great potential but needs to be updated or something. Difficult to finish a full game before it freezes. Other times it freezes before you can even get started. Lots of great potential, but unfortunately it seems that the app has been left for dead and/or abandoned judging by its updates and current game play.

### 4/5 — Amazing game

*2026-06-27, version 3.1*

I have recently started to play 42 and this game has helped me a lot but wish the bots were smarter and wish you could invite your friends to play with you.

### 2/5 — Computer flaws

*2026-06-22, version 3.1*

The computer does not recognize the trumps somebody can play a double five and the Trump is four and you have one Trump left. They will say you lost the game.! I have been playing this game now for about a year and a half. I wish they would make it realistic like if you’re at the end of the game, maybe there’s two places left. They will give away a double six and a0 one. I would prefer to it to be more realistic, so you could really learn to play. I would like to add. That my Domino’s don't come over to me. I have to touch each one with my finger to get them to move.

### 2/5 — Enjoyed Practicing For Tournament

*2026-06-15, version 3.1*

Good practice. Sometimes the partner makes stupid errors. It did irritate me when my opponent “lost” and he played a trump. The other “players” always exhaust their trumps quickly. I play it for fun and refuse to pay in order to play with “smart” partners.

### 4/5 — Good game up to a point

*2026-06-09, version 3.1*

Solid 42 Dominoes game to train on your own and/or for learning the game. But I have to say it’s only good up to a certain point. I have the full paid version, I’ve played 370 games on hard mode with “smart” opponents and a “smart” partner, and I’ve realized trends in how they play. They do not bet or play hands naturally. When force bet is turned on and it lands on them, they usually always bet on blanks—even if they have the worst blanks of the bunch. Just one example of confusing algorithmic behavior, but maybe I’ve just played past what this app can be used for. I’ve had fun while it lasted—hence 4 stars—but it could be improved. All in all, I’ve had tons of fun, and I’ve trained to the point where I’m confident I can beat my uncle now 🤝

### 3/5 — Partner playing

*2026-05-09, version 3.1*

I wish the developers would update the Gabe so the partner would stop throwing trumps as fast as he can. We lose most of the games when the partner has a lot of my trumps because he throws them all first.

### 3/5 — Dumb partner

*2026-04-23, version 3.1*

Computer partner makes stupid bids

### 4/5 — Ron

*2026-03-12, version 3.1*

Put me online with players

### 4/5 — Enjoyed Practicing For Tournament

*2026-03-08, version 3.1*

Good practice. Sometimes the partner made stupid errors, but this challenged me to step up. I also learned to pay closer attention to how rocks were played.

### 3/5 — Options

*2026-03-05, version 3.1*

It would be great if you could play the options for free. You have to pay to play nello or Sevens

### 4/5 — Good but flawed

*2026-03-01, version 3.1*

I love playing this game, but the partner playing algorithm has a bug imo. My partner often fails to play count when it’s clear we will win the trick. This bug has cost me the hand many times.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Computer flaws

*2026-08-10, version 3.1*

The computer does not recognize the trumps somebody can play a double five and the Trump is four and you have one Trump left. They will say you lost the game.! I have been playing this game now for about a year and a half. I wish they would make it realistic like if you’re at the end of the game, maybe there’s two places left. They will give away a double six and a0 one. I would prefer to it to be more realistic, so you could really learn to play. I would like to add. That my Domino’s don't come over to me. I have to touch each one with my finger to get them to move. I paid for a smart partner twice and he's dumber than dirt. you haven't done anything about my partner. He is supposed to be a smart partner. He will be with one Trump. He's losing us every game and I paid for him twice. it's me again and I paid twice just like I told you. For a smart partner. This partner is so dumb he will bid 31 with one Trump and no doubles what is going on. I want my old partner back.!!!!!

### 1/5 — Smart player

*2026-07-14, version 3.1*

I paid for the “smart player” and it is absolutely NOT smart. Don’t waste your time or money playing this game.

### 1/5 — Bad Partners

*2026-06-24, version 3.1*

I really was expecting for the developers to make these 2 changes as I see others have the same issue. But nothing has been done, after 6weeks. I’m done. It is so FRUSTRATING. Deleting my favorite game app today.
6 weeks earlier:
I paid for a smart partner. There’s nothing smart about it! They lead with a points die when no other die has been played. Also, trumps me even when i already have the trick eon. My percentage is going down and not because of my play.
Please get partners that are at least as smart as a human!!!

### 1/5 — AI cheats

*2026-04-28, version 3.1*

I love playing 42 but this app can really get ridiculous. It’s like you against 3. My partner is a complete idiot. This game using AI can really make one’s BP rise. The scoring also is off many times.

### 1/5 — Partner

*2026-03-22, version 3.1*

When playing forced bid your partner will pick blanks as trumps 95% of the time, even if they don’t have a single blank. When playing forced bid you can count on losing the majority of your partners bid.

### 1/5 — Very enjoyable and reasonable option prices

*2026-02-01, version 3.1*

The basic mode is great for beginners to learn the game. I prefer playing points mode to extend the rounds. It should go to ALL marks (7) for true Texas mode and the play suggestions on trumps fails to account for count dominoes. Nonetheless.it is still very enjoyable and you can upgrade to play more challenging opponents.

### 1/5 — BOOOOOOOO!

*2026-01-25, version 3.1*

Boo this game. If you know how to play, you won’t be able to stand it. If you don’t you will learn nothing except maybe how to get your partner to punch you.

### 1/5 — 42

*2026-01-17, version 3.1*

Love this game but would like to know how many hands are programmed in to the app.

Update: like playing with a 1 year old.

### 1/5 — Not pleased

*2025-11-12, version 3.1*

I love to play 42 and the standard partner is dumber than dirt. They say you can buy a smarter partner, but I’m not spending money to buy a partner.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time…or money

*2025-11-11, version 3.1*

The most frustrating part is when the computer decides it’s time for you to lose, it’s unavoidable. Either your opponents get all the count and trumps or your partner makes outrageously bad decisions…even the “smart” one. It really diminishes the whole enjoyment of playing 42. I’ve left multiple reviews pointing this and various other flaws out but to no avail. Nevertheless, at least I’m able to get some small degree of satisfaction over the “house”.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Play

*2026-08-14, version 3.1*

I wish the way players played would be updated. More realistic play would take the game to another level.

### 5/5 — Pretty good

*2026-07-14, version 3.1*

My only complaint is kinda big. The smart partner option isn’t smart. The partner makes frequent unforced errors that even the opponents don’t make. For example, leading an unprotected 6:4 when 6:5 and 6:6 or trumps are still out, and calling blanks as trump then leading with blank 5 with blank 6 and double blank is still out. These partner errors (and a couple others) occur even when it should be obvious I don’t have the suit or trumps. The opponents never make such mistakes, so the code exists and should be applied when the smart partner option is checked. Otherwise, the app works well and is fun to play; even better than others I’ve tried.

### 5/5 — 42 domino

*2026-06-28, version 3.1*

Good except it will not let my iPhone 13 log out unless I shut my phone down, hope you fix this bug.

### 5/5 — Good Dominoes Game

*2026-06-11, version 3.1*

It’s a good game except the partner routinely makes stupid moves. An easy example is when your partner draws out ALL of the trumps when the two of you are the only ones with trump dominoes in your hand. This almost always causes you to lose that hand. Another example is when it leads off with the 6/4 domino when neither the 6/6 or the 6/5 has yet been played and then later you see it had a smaller non-count domino in its hand that it could have led with.

### 5/5 — Nello

*2026-05-31, version 3.1*

This game would be enhanced a lot if you had the option in going nello and doubles follow doubles. If you look at the rules that is normal play. Please add that feature. Otherwise it’s a great app

### 5/5 — Enjoyable childhood game.

*2026-05-23, version 3.1*

All that’s missing is the laughter and the groans of my Oklahoma aunts and cousins. Well done!

### 5/5 — Partner Trump Play

*2026-05-04, version 3.1*

Pretty solid 42 game out there right now. One issue I do see, in the strategy, is when me and my partner only have trumps, instead of my partner playing doubles to try to get rid of my “off’s”, it immediately comes back out with a trump. I wish it would recognize we are the only one’s with trumps so it should play doubles (or highest of a suit) to help me get rid of my “off’s”.

### 5/5 — Jo Jo

*2026-03-27, version 3.1*

Thanks great fun. Teaching me to play better.

### 5/5 — The Best Game Ever Played

*2026-03-27, version 3.1*

42 Dominoes really is the best game I have ever played It’s a game that most people have never heard of. It’s a game I learned growing up in Texas and have played and loved this game now for close to 60 years. I wish you could actually play it on line with other players and I wish AI would deal fairly. It gets pretty obvious when every hand your dealt is blanks and ones and no doubles!
Other than that if you love 42 as much as I do, you will love this game.

### 5/5 — Well written game

*2026-02-17, version 3.1*

A lot of fun, and has helped me learn the game to prep for in person play.
