My Preferred Bus Tracker in NYC
I know there are lots of options out there for tracking MTA busses, and I’m tried a lot of them, but this one is my favorite. The maps are intuitive. I can pick any route and know exactly where it goes and where the busses are. Tracking the subways is a separate charge (sigh), but it’s a nice feature overall.Show lessDennis2368
Great Help
I downloaded this app on a recommendation from a friend a few years ago and I’m glad I did. While there are free apps that say that they have the same information, I haven’t found the claim to be entirely truthful. This app gives me up to the minute schedules of the entire NYC transit system and I can plan my trips accordingly. It allows me to see specific routes, exactly where the buses are on the route as well as the exact number of the vehicle. I use this app daily and it makes my commute so much easier.Show lessbridget330

Difficult to use
I would like to have a FAQs or instructions on how to use this app. I have trouble finding my route. Unless you know which bus you want it’s hard to find times , Route, etc. it might be helpful to have the color map you see in the kiosks that outline the entire route for each line. Or to have access to the big schedules. Just finding busses is hard and times are not clear.Show lessdragoncat453
Love This App
I use Bus NYC every day and find it invaluable. It’s easy to organize and view times for the various routes I follow and the info is always spot on. This is one app I would hate to be without.Seeker46

Reliable, easy to use app - can’t live without it
My apartment is 15 minutes from the nearest subway station, and my job is not easily accessible via subway. So I’m on the bus a lot. The Bus NYC app is simpler and more reliable than Maps or Citymapper - probably because it focuses on doing one thing well (and succeeds!). Both the wait time and checking the location of buses on the map inform my decision about whether or not to wait, and whether to get on a local or wait for SBS. Favorites screen makes the app super efficient. I can and do depend on Bus NYC to help me get around the city quickly. The very few times I’ve had issues, the development team is very responsive. Mixed Review
I’ve always loved this app & use it all the time. But lately it’s been very unreliable. E.g. saying the next bus is in 9 minutes when it’s one block away. Or saying a bus is coming when it’s been re-routed due to construction. I hope they will fix these bugs. (BTW I HAVE updated.)photopro212
Good but...
Generally a helpful app. BUT for all of us commuters who ride the same line every day it would be SO much more helpful if we could set up a default route that just appears in map view every time you open the app. You have a “start app on favorites” option. But I still have to go through several taps to get to the only useful screen - the map that shows me where the buses are! I want to set a route as my most favorite and flip a switch in settings so that the map view of that route becomes my start screen. I never look at those other useless screens. They just waste my time!
