I have just purchased a Motorhome to do some retirement travelling in our great country, I have found CamperMate to be an exceptionally handy app. It has everything a novice needs to know and so far, our planning is a breeze.

Unbelievable app

This is the perfect app for travelling , using it for the west coast and it has 100% saved us from disasters. Has everything you need from petrol stations to rest areas to all the looks outs , unreal

We love this app! It’s easy to use, regularly updated and gives peace of mind when looking for a new free or low cost camp, the comments are very helpful in deciding where to stay too. We are very spontaneous campers who let fate guide us, even interstate and having the app with us we’ve found some wonderful camps that we’d never knew existed. 5 stars.

Extremely useful in planning our trip

Love that it’s interactive with people updating it all the time with comments and photos. I found many campsites that weren’t advertised elsewhere, especially the free camping sites. Would be good if the “details” section showed the entire description of each place, as on iPad it only shows a few lines then gets cut off. Also there are many foreign comments (which is great) but the translator doesn’t work and I can’t read German unfortunately. All in all though it’s the best camping app I’ve used.

Editorial staff need to get their act together

Many campsites from other apps are missing from this one. At the same time, they refuse to delete closed campsites even when reported to them. There’s a button to correct missing details and no-one ever approves the changes. Worst part is they are continually and arbitrarily editing people’s comments on campsites, sometimes omitting extremely important details of certain sites. Deleted!

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. CamperMate's policy is to only list legal and designated camping spots, therefore we may not have the same listings as others, however, you can be assured you will not receive a $200 fine on your window in the morning, nor upset the local populations by camping irresponsibly. CampeMate accepts all comments both positive and negative, however, if a comment contains swearing or anything we deem offensive we reserve the right to remove profanity. We will also not accept comments which promote irresponsible camping behavior (polluting or advice that's just simply wrong/illegal). Only genuine stayer reviews will be accepted also, as you can imagine, a scathing review on a place that a guest has not actually stayed is unfair and can be detrimental to a business. I will follow up with the team to see if there's any pending 'closed camp' submissions or suggested edits. In the meantime, if you would like to follow up to as why your comments or submissions weren't accepted please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Great help

We are planning a trip to New Zealand in 2022 and this app is very helpful for finding sites for the campervan we’ll rent.

Useful information - strange behavior on iPad

The app is very useful and provides great information about camp sites and points of interest. On my iPad it only works in portrait direction, not in landscape. This is very unusual and annoying if you also use a keyboard for your iPad. Not sure if this is a bug or on purpose.
