  • The best public transportation by far

Citymapper gives so many options to mix and match in terms of what combination of buses and trains to take. For someone who lives in a big city, I really appreciate being able to decide which combinations of rides fit my time the best. The only feedback I have is that though it gives good options, it is not as clear as Apple Maps where exactly the stops are or where to enter for the subway or train. Sometimes it so unclear to the point where I have to navigate to Apple Maps to see which entrance I can take to get to my correct ride

  • Best app EVER!

This is hands down the most useful app for navigating big cities ever! Far more useful than something simple like google maps. I used this in Paris and in figuring out how to get from one place to another, it tells you how many minutes it will take if you walk, ride a bike, ride a scooter, ride in a car, take the bus or metro. If you take metro for example it will tell you how to walk to the appropriate station, what line to get on, going in which direction, how many stops to ride, what stop to get off or change, how to navigate changes to different lines, and what stop to get off at, and even which street exit to take. Then, the walking route to your final destination. Indispensable!!!!!

  • Can’t imagine life without it

I rarely write reviews for anything but I love this app so much, I have to! I live in New York and City Mapper is genuinely a life saver. I’m so comfortable getting around now. I do pet sitting so I have to travel to a number of different apartments in the city and I’ve been able to find my way each and every time using this. I can even calculate when to leave in order to get there on time! It’s also extremely helpful having the times for the Subway trains available with the directions.

In conclusion, you won’t regret the download.

  • Using Citymapper in London

Just the perfect companion for travel in public transport. Reminds you of your stop 😃
  • Great if you have terrible sense of direction

This app was a life saver during a recent vacation to NYC. It allowed us to get walking or transit routes anywhere in the city. When taking the subway I watched the map on my phone for current location and stops (announcements were not very loud). Didn’t get lost once! I did have to use my iPhone app if I didn’t know an exact address. Like if I just wanted a coffee to find a coffee shop in Apple Maps and then plug in the address in Citymapper. I would pay for an app that combines the current platform with a search function.

  • Top Shelf App

In bars they put the best stuff on the top shelf. This is that kind of app. It stores some of the information on your phone, which I LOVE because I don’t max out my storage on my phone all the time and if I’m on vacation in Europe then I know I need space for photos I’m going to take. The fact it puts information on your phone is great because you KNOW that if you’re on a train or in a subway, etc, you’re going to lose connectivity. This app is prepared for that.

This app is “solidly built.” It doesn’t fail and suddenly lose track of where you are when you’re in the middle of a complex series of connections from the airport to the bus or the taxi, to the subway, to the hotel or hostel, or wherever you stay!! This is the kind of app you can trust.

One thing to know (which isn’t really a negative), is that this can be an energy intensive app for your phone to run, so don’t navigate away from the app when it’s opened…especially with an older phone. It can crash if you have too much else opened, but that’s only because it’s got so much information!! This is the kind of top shelf app that really does something we didn’t have in the pre-internet era. This would have been a pile of paperwork back then…Bus schedules and train schedules and figuring out what platform to be on…THIS DOES IT ALL!!!

  • Lacks Practical

As a woman, this app has navigated me to spaces where I felt unsafe or was unsafe. If you input arriving at a certain time this app may take you off public transit prematurely. I’m talking walking for twenty minutes and walking pass more bus stops prematurely. I get the idea behind this but safety is more important than time. If a bus goes closer to my destination it makes no sense to have me get off sooner. I was at a bus stop where a man placed an empty crack pipe next to me. Thankfully security for the restaurant behind me was on high alert but that may not the case.

Furthermore, sometimes this app lags behind on viable routes. Construction happens but so do unexpected accidents. It’s important that this app communicates with outside channel to access valid bus/ train stops.

  • Best transport app available

I’ve tried many transport apps that are always missing something...Citymapper brings everything you want together in a user friendly format. Perfect for exploring new places or just navigating your home town and the public transport options. More up to date than the ‘official’ transport apps!
  • I’ve used it everywhere

I’ve been using Citymapper for three years now and I’ve recommended it to all of my friends. When I moved from a rural area to the city after college, I had to figure out city transit for the first time in my life, and Citymapper made it so easy. I’ve used this in Chicago on a daily basis, but I’ve also used this in Paris, Amsterdam, London and Toronto and never got lost! I’m now at the point where I occasionally know better or easier ways to get to certain places in the city on transit than what the app tells me, but it’s still great for planning out trips. Highly recommend it!

  • walk route is incorrect results in missing train

The route from my location 15 Henley Road Thirroul to Austinmer station to travel to Sydney does not take into account the need to use the road bridge to the South to cross between platforms. The route shown on the app takes you to the wrong side of the track, and would require at least another five minutes after discovering nearer to walk back up the road across the road bridge to the correct platform. This app does not have a method for reporting these areas it appears
