The People's Friend Rip Off
Purchased 31 August 2013 edition on 28 April 2013. Family had not finished reading it and I did the update to latest vers last night. Lost all edtions. Developer states that only 30 editions will be stored, so I presume I have lost my mags and money. It probably also means that as each week goes by the oldest edition will be lost forever. Great for quick readers not so good if you are behind in your reading, like we are.

I have just downloaded the new update of Peoples Friend and can't get anything to work. I am unable to open any magazine it just keeps reverting to the Newstand. Please help.

Agreed. Why do the app developers see the need to constantly "upgrade" apps that work perfectly well - particularly since like this they usually then don't work at all!
Very happy now
I bought the subscription so that I could read the current issue - love the ease with which the magazine downloads each week. Would love to be able to subscribe to the peoples friend special (of which there are 12 per year) - that would be awesome.
Disappointing
I have been reading this app for four weeks now and have enjoyed each of the four weekly issues I have read very much. Each issue is presented very well, is clear, easy to navigate, and downloads easily and with no issues. In fact i couldn't have thought of a single way in which this app would need to improve - the perfect reading experience!
However, I am now utterly disappointed because there has not been a new issue out in nearly two weeks. I have checked the website for the magazine and, indeed, there is a new issue out which hasn't appeared in this app! So either someone has forgotten to update the app with the latest issue, or the app has been cast aside. Glad I didn't subscribe, as I had planned to, or else I would be incredibly unhappy and demanding a refund right now!

Disappointed - like Sal worked for a few editions now nothing - tried reinstalling but I can't even get into app store keep getting buy message :(
People's friend
It's completely hopeless I been trying for last 4 weeks and complained to I Tune whom I paid for subscription but no body taking any responsibility..I'm out of pocket......
Where's the Content?
I downloaded this app, but it won't display any content. It won't display the current issue, nor previous issues. I can't buy any issues or a subscription. I just have blank pages. I contacted the support page who directed me to Apple customer services, who said that it wasn't their app, and referred me back to TPF!

DON'T bother with this app
Loaded this app in June, managed to download a couple of Paid editions, have checked in regularly since but none of the latest issues available since early June and all the other back editions listed have been 'Temporarily Unavailable' for weeks.
Contacted the developers via the button here for App Support, and they flatly refused to take any responsibility saying 'Apple own the product! sort it with them!' and directed me to a general UK Apple site with no contact email on it.
I tried deleting and reinstalling, as suggested by Apple site. The result? Still no current issues, in 'In App Purchases' the buy more button doesn't work, and it disappeared the ones I've paid for.
Luckily I hadn't stopped my sub to the paper mag at my local newsagents, even if it means I'm forever six weeks behind.
This needs fixing please. Would be good if someone would actually take responsibility.
Meantime I'm deleting again.

waste of time and money
This app was working fine until i updated my iphone and now it doesnt work on phone or ipad. Very disappointing. I tried what Sal said in her reviews but still not working.
