Not the best

I use this simple app quite often to check my balance , transfer money and make payments and I thought was rather good but today I tried to apply for another account and that’s where my pain began…. After more than an hour of trying to get to the correct section and two phone calls to support I have given up. It asks repeatedly for your login and then you have to verify it’s you and then you’re back to square one! . Twice I got to the application page where you add your location but then it glitches/ freezes and you can’t proceed. Not happy. Tech support said this happens often…. Please fix it

Bank app

I will say I do love the set up and how the app runs ect. And this may just be a me issue but I put my money into my savings account and transfer what I need when I need it so nothing can just take money out of my account and with the app constantly having issues ( errors) and not being able to log in or transfer money find myself in annoying positions I know all apps have to update and all that but no other bank app I’ve had has the constant problems this one seems to have.

You can’t use on multiple devices, anymore

In the past you were able to use the app on your iPhone and iPad. But this is no longer possible to use two devices. You instead have to log on via web URL for the second device. Which I find is less secure than using the app. It is too easy nowadays for fake URL websites. It have been possible to have list of devices with approve to use the app. Apart from this the app is fine.

Was Awesome on iPhone 6 now after recent update won’t load or start

Was absolutely awesome, but now after recent update won’t start at all on iPhone 6
Will have to go back to in branch for cash and all transactions.
It’s good shows the importance of staying with CASH.
Cash doesn’t need a phone upgrade, cash doesn’t get computer glitches.
Proves CASH is still KING !!!!!!!!!!!

Worst banking app I use.

I’ll mention the things I do like before I get to the bad stuff. You can ‘pay anyone’ directly out of all of your bank accounts, not just the main account linked to your card. It’s also pretty user friendly in that respect.

However, it doesn’t notify you when you are receiving or withdrawing money from your account and each transaction report is far too simple, with no details on the merchant or an option to dispute (which you need to go into a branch or call up to do, which can be inconvenient if you don’t live near a branch, though this is mitigated by the fact that Bendigo are very often the only bank left in many small towns across Australia). I preferred the old style of the app when it comes to quick balances and logging in, where I could access my account from multiple devices at the same time.

Can only use app on one device after security update

Updated to the new security on my phone after weeks of prompting. All ok. Worked as usual. Then tried to update the app on my iPad, only to find it removed access from my iPhone. Had to set up the app on my phone again - and it removed access from my iPad! Seems you can only set up the app on one device! If that’s the case, it should give a warning that the app can only be installed on one device AND that installing it will remove access from your other device. I don’t like doing all my banking on my phone but need the app for when I am out. now have to go back to using a browser on my iPad when I want to pay bills. Seems like a backwards step!

Best Security

Unlike other banks’ apps, this app is associated with an electronic 2FA token which means certain high risk transactions are protected even if your phone number is ported without your knowledge.
As such I have more confidence in the security of Bendigo Bank as it doesn’t rely entirely on SMS codes.
Transaction notifications would also be a significant security feature, saving the bank money by altering customers before more damage is done. I would have thought it would save the Bank some liability as well.
My question is … is it on the radar and roughly when?
Understand it’s harder for banks with legacy systems but Westpac have recently introduced it I understand.

Not happy

Before ‘upgrading’ to the new security option (the stupid pop up that shows up every time you log in) the app was great, could access it across multiple devices with no issues. Since ‘upgrading’ the app will only work on one device and when loaded onto a new device, switches the other devices off. F-n annoying!!! The bank tell me that it can only be on one device and the others have to access banking through the website - RIDICULOUS. If you want to be a Better Bank get with the rest of them and make the app accessible across multiple devices AT THE SAME TIME.

Response from developer

Worse banking app from the worst bank

Bendigo Bank App is absolutely horrible. They have enabled a series of “security” features that make the user experience extremely frustrating. If you get a new phone, you have to uninstall the app or it locks your account. You also have to enable notifications on your banking app or it locks your access via desktop web browser. None of this they tell you until you waste hours on their customer support over numerous calls with long wait queues. Bank elsewhere, these guys are absolute amateurs. Their branch staff are just as bad. Go into a branch to ask questions and they will direct you to their website and tell you to look it up yourself. I’ve been trying to get a couple of accounts opened and it’s taken months and still not done. Do better Bendigo Bank.

Payment notifications…

Can you please fix the bug of payment notifications? It says you can set payment notifications on for Centrelink payments, in fact, the option is below the transaction and you switch it on and it immediately turns off again and the same goes for enabling it in the app settings, enabled then you go back to the settings menu and it’s disabled, extremely frustrating! Also, why can’t you also allow “Salary” and PayID payment notifications also? Well it suppose it doesn’t matter anyway because at this stage, NO push notifications for any payments are coming through! I’ve noticed lots of other reviews here on the App Store, particularly from 2 years+ ago mentioning the same issues and also mentioning another important feature of “transaction notifications”, why can’t there be those notifications? Your response to those reviews here on the App Store says that you’ll send the feedback to the relevant team…well it seems that got no where! “Up Bank”, which you own, has every notification you can think of, why can’t you be like Up? I just prefer having Bendigo as my main bank, otherwise I’d move straight to Up. PLEASE Bendigo Bank update your payment and transaction push notifications!!
