Liked it the first time so I’m back
I am an avid anti-runner. I will do anything to get out of running. I’ve been especially sedentary since 2020, and now I’m trying to get healthier again. I realize running isn’t necessary, but I loved the sense of accomplishment I got from this program the first time I finished it (back in 2011, I think).
The app has always worked well for me. The program itself is pretty manageable for someone who doesn’t have any mobility issues. I love the gradual increase between levels; some are intimidating at first, but if you give this a fair shot it really works.
The best part about this the first time was that I was able to run for 20 minutes straight by the end, and I was not out of breath. Right now I find myself breathing a little heavier after putting on pants and shoes, so I’m really excited to reach the point where I can move, talk, and breathe normally all at once.Show lessDeveloper Response
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! We are thrilled to be a part of your journey and all your successes! If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know at contactus@zenlabsfitness.com. Have a wonderful day!-1 Star: Great app, but doesn’t tell you how fast to run.
I am a completely new runner. Goal is to run 5K and 10K without dying. This is a great program to help train you. The mix between walking and running at the scheduled intervals and time lengths was perfect. The only problem? It doesn’t tell you how fast to run. Only on and past Week 5 Day 2 does it start telling you to jog specific distances for X number of minutes. Example: 3/4 of a mile for eight minutes. If you do the math? That’s 5.625 mph that I’m supposed to be running!! Prior to this I would complete each run+jog interval, but only at 3.5 to 4.0 mph. The reality that I should’ve been going 5.625 at a sustained run literally crushed me and demotivated me big time as I realized I wasn’t keeping up with the actual intended program. That was 2 weeks ago. I’m over it mentally now and am going through the program again; working to increase my speed. This is a lifestyle change so I will repeat the program numerous times, as well as working through their 10K program. Eventually, I’ll be able to get my 5K time at a sub-30 minute pace of which I’ll be extremely happy… I’ll owe it all to this program. Definitely the best money spent for the subscription.Show lessDeveloper Response
Hi there! We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. The program is designed for first-time runners and you will get to the end of the program. If you ever have difficulty on a certain day, it is very common to repeat those days. This program is designed with interval training, so the focus should be on running or walking during those intervals and not the speed/pace. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at contactus@zenlabsfitness.com. Have a wonderful day!-1 Star: Great app, but doesn’t tell you how fast to run.
