## What is 5 Tibetan Rites?

Five ancient movements. Practised daily. Used for centuries to restore energy, flexibility, and youthful vitality.

The Five Tibetan Rites are a sequence of five exercises performed each morning — a complete practice in under 15 minutes. Brought to the West in the 1930s by a retired British army colonel who discovered them in a remote Tibetan monastery, they have since been practised by millions worldwide.

— THE FIVE RITES —

① The Whirling — Spin clockwise with arms extended to activate your energy centres and improve balance.

② The Rising — Lying flat, raise your legs and head simultaneously to strengthen the core and stimulate circulation.

③ The Kneeling Backbend — From a kneeling position, arch back to open the chest, throat and spine.

④ The Tabletop — Seated, press up into a bridge, engaging the entire posterior chain.

⑤ The Balance — Flow between downward dog and upward dog to energise the whole body from hands to feet.

— GUIDED MODE (NEW IN 2.0) —
Let the app lead you through every rep. Choose your pace — Slow, Medium, or Fast — and the app counts each repetition automatically, cuing you when to inhale and exhale in sync with the movement. A pulsing breath ring around the animated figure keeps the rhythm visual. Switch to Manual any time for the classic tap-to-count experience.

— SMART PROGRESSION —
The traditional approach starts with 3 repetitions per rite and increases by 2 each week until you reach 21 — the number the monks practised daily. The app guides this for you automatically, week by week. Override at any time if you want to move faster or slower.

— ANIMATED GUIDANCE —
Each rite is shown as a smooth animated figure so you always know what the movement looks like — no videos, no ads, no distractions.

— STREAK & PROGRESS —
Track your daily practice with a streak calendar, session history, and progression chart. See at a glance how your rep count has climbed toward 21.

— DAILY REMINDER —
Set a once-daily reminder at whatever time suits your routine. The app asks after your first session — no nag screens before you've even started.

— NOTHING IN THE WAY —
No subscription. No account. No ads. All data stays on your device. Open the app, do your rites, close it.

Begin today. Your body will thank you in a week.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2 — 2026-07-16

Completely rebuilt animations — every rite now moves like a real body: joints rotate naturally, hands and feet stay grounded, and each movement flows with the rhythm of your breath.

New streak widget — keep your practice streak in sight on your home screen or lock screen. It refreshes at midnight, so it's always accurate.

### 2.1 — 2026-05-26

New Settings screen — manage your daily reminder, repetitions, and reset options in one place, accessible via the gear icon on the home screen.

New Water tab — track your daily hydration alongside your practice. Set a goal, log each cup with a tap, and turn on optional reminders every 1–4 hours.

### 2.0 — 2026-05-06

Guided Mode: let the app lead every rep. Pick Slow, Medium, or Fast — the app counts automatically and cues each inhale and exhale. A breath ring pulses around the animated figure to keep the rhythm visual. Switch to Manual any time for the classic tap-to-count experience.

### 1.7 — 2026-05-04

Improved progress calendar: larger day cells, correct locale-aware weekday headers (Monday-first for German users), and month navigation. Tap any session in Recent Sessions to see a full detail view. Full session history accessible via "See All".

### 1.6 — 2026-04-28

Bug fixes and improvements: fixed a HealthKit issue where unfinished sessions could span two days in Apple Fitness. Added a push reminder if you start a session and step away, and an auto-close after 90 minutes. German in-app UI is now fully translated. Overhauled exercise animations — smoother transitions, tapered limbs, breathing idle, and a glow effect.
