## What is 500K Step Challenge 2026?

The 500K Step Challenge is a virtual walking event from YouTooCanRun, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's 410 km march from Sabarmati to Dandi.

Your goal is simple: 500,000 steps over the event window. Every step counts — a morning walk, the stairs at work, a stroll after dinner. You choose the pace.

FOLLOW THE ROUTE
Your steps carry you along the historical Dandi March. Each checkpoint unlocks as your total grows, and every stop carries the story of what happened there.

TRACK IT YOUR WAY
Connect Apple Health, Garmin or Strava. Your steps sync automatically. Connect more than one and we count whichever recorded the most that day, so nothing is ever counted twice.

SEE WHERE YOU STAND
Your total against the 500,000 goal, the checkpoints you have passed along the route, and a leaderboard of every participant.

EARN YOUR CERTIFICATES
Reach a checkpoint and your certificate is ready to download and share.
