Leave a Review AMC Theatres
Good but could be great
AMC has a tremendous amount of potential and this app is its key.
The platform does some unprecedented things for the American market and excels in data capabilities. However, one feature that could greatly enhance the user experience would be the ability to track movies in theaters offering premium experiences. Currently, even within the same theater, seating can vary from comfortable reclining chairs (A+) to “plush rockers” (B-) and standard auditorium chairs (F, which I avoid).
For many moviegoers like myself, I’m only leaving my house for a truly great experience. The reminder set feature is helpful but tends to create bottlenecks around opening weekends when premium theaters are in highest demand. Since each theater posts its schedule at different times, it would be beneficial to allow tracking of a movie for the first two or three weeks of its release—when it has the best chance of being in a premium theater. Right now, the reminder set only works for opening weekend, and after that, the movie often falls off the radar. A more flexible tracking option would ensure moviegoers don’t miss out on the best viewing opportunities.Show lessThe app works good the membership doesn't
The app works great for finding a theater mpnear you finding out what's playing and when, what type of format the movie is in (2D, 3D, Imax, Screen X), it alsois simple to redeem gift cards for movies and concession stand. The only thing that is bad about the app why it didn't get 5 stars is the sign/create account. Their are 7 pages of steps so you can earn points for sending money on movie tickets, food, and mech. When you get to the 7th page you find out it cost $25 to create an account, any account. They charge you $$$ so you can spend $$$ and earn points to get discounts to entice you to spend more money. Give the account away for free AMC would still make money from regular purchases over the app and as you earn rewards you would spend money you might not have other wise. The charge up front stopped me from joining and spending more money in the long run. So... AMC doesn't get the money up front in the short game and because of that won't get more money spent in the long game because I'm not signing up. I did just use it redeem 3 movie tickets but I couldn't get concessions, I don't know if it's because the movie is tomorrow?Show lessA list
Wow. Shouldn’t have asked me to review!
Soooooo…. I for some reason got blocked from using my a list acct. back in December. I use it often. They said is was my payment method. I tried to fix pretty quick. Nope. Then I was frustrated so went on a few days later. Nope. Then it said because I CANCELLED my membership I was blocked for 6 months. I never cancelled. I sent emails to support asking how to fix a few times. Tried to fix at the theater a couple times. Can’t. So the girl last week tired for 45 minutes to fix. Said i had a few accounts over 18 years. Yes. True. I had to make new ones after covid and when moved to Florida. But for 5 or 6 months before they blocked me i used 1 acct. so the young lady who took all that time to help could do nothing but delete 2 accounts and told me only to use the one she left. Lost all my data of movies and dates that I went to see them, which I love, and my reward points. Etc etc. to top it off, she said well I can’t think of a way to get you back to A list so you’ll have to hold out til June and pay reg price for movies. Which I’ve been paying since January. She couldn’t even fix it and customer support has only responded with ..go to website and… or go to theater and talk to a person.
WHY you may ask don’t you go to a different theater. 1 I have. 2 AMC is 5 minutes from my house. 3 I’ve been using AMC for 18 years. So much for customer loyalty.Show less
