In Nevada you can watch a video live version! ### 1/5 — Not good *2022-02-06, version 2.3* This app is helpful if you drive on main highways. Doesn’t tell you anything about secondary highways so useless really. ### 1/5 — Absolutely useless. *2022-01-21, version 2.3* Drove from Vermilion to Edmonton. Relying on this app will end you in the ditch or worse. Absolutely 0 rating. They were wrong on everything. We were driving on ice and the app said dry and black. ### 2/5 — Bring back old version *2022-01-07, version 2.3* This new app leaves a lot to be desired. No updates on accidents or road conditions. I honestly don’t feel I can trust for road conditions most of the time. I understand that Alberta weather can change in an instant, but this doesn’t show many secondary roads and what it does show is inaccurate. The new settings are annoying and this version is not user friendly. Please look at the older version and fix these issues. ### 1/5 — How to use it ???? *2021-12-03, version 2.3* It asks for a password but I’ve never been in it before & anything I punch in it doesn’t accept. When I am trying to look at the map it keeps flipping to another page in the app and tries to read the road reports. The legend is hard to read and understand. ### 1/5 — Push Notifications *2021-03-22, version 2.2* Since the last update, I can’t get passed a screen that asks me to allow push notifications. I don’t want to allow notifications. But there is no alternative to close the screen and move to using the app. If I can’t figure out how to remedy this I will delete the app and use the website. There’s an accident on there that says road closed and it’s been cleaned up and moved for over 12 hours. You can’t tap on the road anymore to see when the conditions where updated last. I can no longer depend on 511 Alberta for accurate road information. The old app was easier to use and was way more informative. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2019-11-10, version 1.3* I’m from out of province. Terrible app. Earlier version from 2 years ago was better. All I want to know is what the conditions are at a glance. Saskatchewan’s Highway Hotline is what 511 used to be like. This one does not. Also it would be great if smaller highways could hear part of this app, not only the major ones. I have tried many different ways to trouble shoot. Nothing has worked. It is winter & important road report information is not accessible; NOT good….. ### 1/5 — No info share Hwy17 with SK *2025-12-19, version 3.0* It’s 2025 and Alberta 511 and Saskatchewan 511 are still not able to communicate the travel conditions on Highway 17 in Saskatchewan between the two different provinces and show Highway 17 conditions on the Alberta app. You have to have two apps to be able to find the same information. Maybe you should just join all the prairie provinces into one app like put Alberta Saskatchewan in Manitoba onto one app it seems like you use the same format and app provider! ### 1/5 — They need actual status of conditions *2025-12-18, version 3.0* Not sure where they get their information from but it is rarely updated properly. Unless it’s summer with good weather. There has many times 511 says the road is bare and good. But Alberta emergency app says the highway is closed do to weather, and it sources 511 as its source. I thought the point of this app is to give updated road conditions. ### 1/5 — ZERO STAR *2025-11-28, version 3.0* I recently tried the 511 Alberta app and quickly encountered several issues that make it unreliable and not useful for drivers: Lack of live updates: The app does not reflect actual road conditions in real time, which is essential for drivers who rely on accurate information for safety and planning. Sign-in issues: Despite selecting “Remember Me,” the app requires signing in every time it is opened. No automatic updates: The app does not update itself automatically, which can result in outdated information being displayed. No any updated available. Missing satellite view: A satellite view option would greatly enhance situational awareness but is currently unavailable. Stability issues: The app frequently crashes, further reducing its reliability. As someone who drives for a living, I must rely on accurate and timely information to ensure safety for myself and others on the road. In its current state, the 511 Alberta app does not meet these needs and is therefore not a reliable tool for professional drivers or others who require up-to-date road conditions. Due to these issues, I deleted the app after a week of trying it. It’s 2025, everything is digital. ### 1/5 — App Freezes *2025-01-10, version 3.0* Had to keep removing app and re-adding as it keeps freezing up. The hands free features are great and I love that I know where snowplows are in the winter. TIP: take 10 or 15 minutes to fill in your information and customize the settings. Get to know it before you need it otherwise you will be frustrated and wah wah. Things seem to work a lot better with the helpful hints added. Safe journeys & “make sure that your shiny side is always up.” ### 5/5 — Brilliant App *2019-08-06, version 1.2.3* Love the latest update to the App. The ability to do check everything from my phone makes this a must have travel companion. With every release it just gets better and better.
