The cameras are turned off during these situations ### 1/5 — From bad to worse. Dangerous. *2024-12-20* The developers should be jailed. Today was a major accident, and it took four MINUTES to launch because it had to update the smash screen. Then the app was useless in my car - unless I wanted a 50,000 foot view of Virginia. **Developer response:** Update: We released a major update on Monday, December 7, 2020, with an all new interface and features. Safe travels. ### 1/5 — "Stream not available" *2024-11-02* That title best sums up this useless app. 99% of the cameras never work. And the only reason I even keep this worthless app on my Ipad. Just like everything else GDOT does, it doesn't work and is a complete failure. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2024-09-27* I just downloaded this app based on local news recommendations after the flooding from hurricane Helene. I verified road closures and flooding all around Metro Atlanta for my route that this app shows as clear. What a shame. ### 1/5 — Not useful; actually dangerous *2024-01-29* The one reason to use this is to get accurate traffic incidents (indicated by traffic helicopters near my house). Well, even after completely removing and reinstalling, “my location” remains zoomed at a national level. Not to mention they removed dozens of dormant cameras (due to highway construction), haven’t replaced them in over four years, and many are still dead. This is USELESS. especially if I’m trying to quickly determine where an incident is. Never hands over to the map. ### 1/5 — 😡 *2023-10-06, version 2.7* Keeps Crashing!!! ### 1/5 — Not good *2023-07-12* App is average whit icons too close together, but the DOT cameras are terrible. 1) most are broken-take them off the app if not working. 2) cameras are dirty which makes them useless. 3) some cameras are pointing in a direction that does not make sense. I would check out the accident and construction areas in the areas I was going to be traveling. The cameras were helpful, too. Now, it looks like they’re trying to compete with some of the Map Apps. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to ditch a Map App that works all over the country for one that just does the state of Georgia. 🙄 Please consider returning to the earlier version of the app that was useful! I used to use this daily! Now, not so much! ### 1/5 — Absolutely the worst app *2022-02-03, version 2.2* This really was the best app for keeping up with traffic in and around Atlanta. I’m a First Responder and used the app a lot to get around trouble spots that would slow me down going to hospitals. Now it is just too complicated to use. It was that you could just open the app choose the area you were wanting to go to and look at the cameras to see if traffic was backed up and what was causing it. Now it won’t stop flipping pages to options and takes forever to load the maps. You can’t even look at the cameras without having to go through ten different steps. COME ON 511!!!!! GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL WAY THE APP WAS!!!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Cannot use because of splash screen *2026-07-01, version 3.4* The app never reaches a usable state because the splash screen doesn’t load. Maybe you should get some pointers from South Carolina on how to run your system, the cameras there are almost always working and very reliable. Huge disappointment. What I can attest to is it worked perfect for me about 8 weeks later ago on I-16. Saved my bacon when I had a blowout! On the side of an interstate with a blow out I’m grateful for a bad app if it does the job! Information is in real-time with GDOT cameras, and the maps are interactive, layered and current. I want to see where the cameras are but these blue circles block the view of the map. However, I simply clicked the Cancel button and it said, "Login Cancelled - Push notifications cannot be enabled without user login, do you want to continue?"
