  • Bug

    2206*(0.67%+1.17%) error result
If it can not parse the expression, you should give the error message instead of the error result.

    Developer Response

That expression works as intended. For what you want use: 2206×(0.67+1.17)% Since: 0.67%+1.17% = 0.0067 + 1.17% = 0.00677839 (≠ 1.84%) and that’s what you think is the bug, right? Percent is very tricky in expressions - there’s no clear definition and no commonly defined order of operations (though neither is there for implicit multiplication). Please read the support section about percent in Kalkyl for more information. Note that you can copy and paste the expression above into (and out of) Kalkyl, instead of writing it symbol by symbol. For support; please use the buttons in the app and not the App Store - it’s much easier to help you there.
  • One of the best, but please have an option for dark mode even when iOS 13’s dark mode is off

This is one of the most straightforward and useful calculator apps I’ve ever used, but can you guys please add back an option for the Kalkyl app to be dark mode independently of iOS 13’s Light or Dark mode?

Prior to iOS 13 the Kalkyl app always had a dark background and I loved it but now it changes to a light background based on the system’s dark or light mode.
The light mode makes the app less appealing and harder to use for me, so I would appreciate it if we got a manual toggle for independent dark mode on Kalkyl.

Thank you for feedback! There's now a system theme override in settings. 🤞🏻
  • Dark mode on day 1

Still the only calculator app I use daily. Love how easy it is to make a quick graph.

    Thank you! 🙏🏼
  • Hard to know how to use.

It's not easy to konw how to use it to ordinary people like me.
  • Just what I was looking for.

Great replacement for the standard iPhone calculator. Excellent support. I reported a problem and it was fixed the next day. I’ve evaluated many apps for my iPhone and this one is the best by far.

    Developer Response

2.7.1 and higher isn’t affected by this issue.
  • Favorite calculator for classes

I used this calculator almost everyday in my physics class. It helped a lot on class assignments when my actual calculator went missing.
If it wasn’t as power hungry on the device (I think that’s iOS though, since that’s also present in the stock app to a slightly lesser extent), it’d be even better. I do kinda wish there was a landscape view similar to the iPad’s implementation of orientation on larger iPhones. Overall though, it’s my favorite calculator app on iOS!

Thank you! 🙏🏼 I’ve been looking into the power consumption and everything points to very low energy usage in 2.7. The only thing I can find is if you’re using an iPhone with an LCD-display then the dark colors used actually draw more power than light colors, and it could be that the display is on for extended periods of time while studying. I’d recommend turning the display off when you are done with the calculations, and see if that helps. Maybe it helps, maybe it doesn’t. 😊 If the problem persists (or if anyone else reading this is seeing the same thing) please check the Settings app > Battery and see how much Kalkyl really draws. Then contact support at contact@nordic.io and we’ll figure it out together. 🤞🏻
  • Great alternative!

This is how iPhone built in calculator should have been at first place. 3D Touch, Haptic Feedback, 3D Touch cursor function all these basics which didn’t do with their built in calculator app are all present in this app. The feature to swipe down on the = button for previous calculations is gross.
  • EXPONENTIATION Carets!

Finally a scientific calculator app with normal exponentiation carets! I really appreciate what you’ve done making this free of adds and in-app purchases. Forever thankful!
  • No ads

Great calculator and no advertisements which is nice
  • A free calculator

The calculator is similar to the Apple app. But it does have more functions that makes it better. One thing I would like to have is a memory function. Otherwise it is a very good calculator.

    Developer Response

There’s “ans” on the equals button for the previous calculations. Don’t miss the 3D Touch (or multiple touches on iPad) cursor and selection on the keyboard.
