One of the best grocery apps out there

I love this app so much. Every trip I make to DG, I open up the app and go to coupon section right away to see if what I am shopping for, is on sale. I tell most people I know that they really could save money by shopping here and that they need to load the app. Some of the best deals DG offers are; laundry detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, pet food and accessories, toilet paper, cleaners, and their seasonal items. Of course, the food & snacks beat all the other chain grocery stores. Also, every Saturday, they offer the $5 off coupon if you spend $30. Seriously, if you plan your grocery outings and holiday shopping, wait until Saturday and you essentially get $5 off your $30 purchase. Does Walmart or Target ever do that for us consumers? No!
This is a great app and DG is always my go-to store for quick shopping and I don’t have to walk a 1/4 or 1/3 mile to get through the front door. Thank you Dollar General for truly being a “people’s grocery store”.

Some coupons don’t apply

The coupons are great! BUT every single time I have my coupons added on my phone and I go to dollar general I always have issues with them not applying to my purchase . I make sure I am getting exactly what they say the coupon is good for . And you don’t know which coupons haven’t applied until after you pay and get your receipt . Then when you tell the clerk they get crappy towards you . This happens almost every single time I go. So if the coupons actually applied to your purchase then I would give 5 stars or if there was a way to email or show that it was not applied and you could get store credit or reimbursed for what wasn’t applied then that would be great.

Dollar General is a awesome place

I have deep and sentamental feeling of my favorite retail if you know me you know my story . I would like for all and everyone I know and don’t know too shop there I always will I haven’t for I hate too say it but I was upset with DG but I have a lot of emotions and prayers too forgive and I have . So everyone save money time and get what you need and keep people in America working shop and drop your bucks at Dollar General you will never get better deals on the things you need from eating and drinking and cleaning and beyond .

Great tool!

I love this app! You are able to scan items in store and check prices, you can see what coupons (if any) attach to the product in question and you can create a shopping trip list in the app for your next trip! The only problem I have with the app (that I’ve had for months) is that I am not able to set my store as “my store” in the app. The app gives me options on what stores are available but it doesn’t show the store that’s closest to me. I’ve logged in and out and still no change. This becomes troublesome when I need to check prices on items and have to guess if that’s the correct price for my specific store. I’ve emailed support on the app and just received a generic email and never heard back from anyone. Can you look into this and please let me know what’s going on? Otherwise, I’m very happy with Dollar General and the app and will continue shopping there.

Okay…really

So two orders in at two different stores. Both times the absolute ONE thing I needed was in stock when I ordered it but not included in the bags when my husband got home. When I check my order it isn’t even on there anymore. Here’s the thing, I’ve done the Walmart pickup, these things happen, but Walmart notifies you and offers an alternative. I live 30 miles from the closest town so it is more convenient for my husband to pick up on his way home from work. I do this because it isn’t just a drive down the block to run to the store. Please please please for the love of life, add a feature to notify when you don’t have something and offer an alternative! If you offered this, the service would be perfect to me.

Frustrated

The Dollar General out is one of the slowest app to clip coupons for every time you open The app or set a coupon the logo in the middle just keep swirling around and around and around and then it jumps back of the top a lot but one of my biggest complaint is there needs to be a different way to login at the store to use your coupons twice now I’ve been sitting at home and got a text of my receiptFrom two totally different dollar general stores in two different cities meaning someone keyed in my phone number to use my coupons that is very frustrating even if someone in at the wrong phone number by mistake they still usd my coupons. There should be someway to scan the app from the individuals phone or enter an email address or after you enter the phone number there should be a three or four digit pin to follow that way no one can keep your phone rnumber in but mistake I’ve actually had a couple of people that know me use my phone
Number and then the tournament told me they did itBecause they didn’t have the app downloaded, they had to get a different phone their phone crashed they can’t see the screen or something it was always something and there just needs to be a way to prevent that.

Suggestions Should Be Highly Considered

Suggestion One-A feature to unclip coupons you don’t need or want if accidentally clipped. It takes too long at register to scan all of them.
Two-When browsing the weekly ad it would be nice to be able to add the item to your list from the ad.
Three-Do something with the search feature to make it better. If you don’t know the exact way it’s listed you won’t get anywhere near the item you are searching for. Example- type in cheese. You get items like shampoo and deodorant. Silly and aggravating
Four-Immediately fix the scam going on with the coupons NOT being deducted at register. Or train employees to correct the mistake instead of looking at you like you’re stupid.
Five-Make the items with coupons available more plainly understood. There are items on the app that doesn’t show there is a coupon for it specifically but it does on another fragrance of the same item. It makes people think the other isn’t eligible when it is. Stop scamming people

Glitchy

This app is extremely glitchy. The latest “bug” is anything that seems to be on a clearance cycle is scanning as 0.00, but anything that isn’t scans just fine. Example - When I’m shopping clearance, especially clearance that has exclusions IE “all Christmas except plastics”, but other items that have a Christmas tag, are not plastic, and according to a sign SHOULD be included aren’t, it would be extremely nice to KNOW beforehand that it isn’t going to ring up properly. Prime example of this happening is the Airwick holiday Apple Cinnamon Medley plugins. Was in the Christmas display, all other scents in the display are clearance. Get to the register and it doesn’t ring up right, and you get stared at by the employee like you’ve grown a second head for assuming it should be included. Could be avoided with a simple scan, but nope. Sure can’t because the latest “improvement” has rendered scanning useless. Fix the app. Couponing and clearance shopping is the main reason you have a solid customer base, and there are plenty of deals to be had without the frustration.

Works well! But as a employee I have a few things to say!

First off, the app is pretty good, other than glitches there is, deals like cookies going to soda, that caused A LOT of money for vendors & the company. IT IS IMPORTANT that the glitches get fixed ASAP or the app gets better.
Second, there needs to be a way to “unclip” coupons. I have my couponers come through my line and they plan for one coupon to work but since they would have two coupons for that item clipped already, they could only use the one the system chooses to apply. It messes everything up.

Please take these into consideration from a Dollar General Employee. Thank you.

Worst App Ever

It doesn’t matter how many try to log in or try to change the password the app won’t work. I have called DG, they totally deleted the account and I started over. But no matter how many times I want to download a digital coupon, I can’t get past the sign in.
I love shopping there but this crap is a real turn off.
To the developer: I got the link to change my password today and after meeting all the specific requirements it said my e Mail has not been verified. Additionally, the new password I just put in was met with a notation that read, this password has already been used. I am at my wits end with this crappy app. And I have had this problem for months.
