  • Wont save my game progress

Gameplay-wise, this game is great, there’s progression for individual units, and interesting and engaging combat. My ONLY issue, is perhaps the biggest one. On the iPhone X at least, it keeps deleting saved games. I have very carefully saved games to try playing later, only to come back and my entire campaign progress is gone. There’s only so many times I want to fight Mordak in the first level!!

Please let me know if I’ve done something wrong with saving, or if there’s something I need to change in settings, as I really would like to keep playing.

If this gets fixed, it’s a 5 star game for me

  • Best Game, but

I love this game but on the iPad version I often encounter suddenly deleted safe game files which is really annoying. Thank you for the community keeping this game widely available.
  • Imperfect but ultimately great port

Never played this before trying it on ipad. Was very surprised by how well the touch controls are despite the original mouse and keyboard controls. However there is some fiddlyness in some places, like using drag to both pan the camera and issue orders. Misplaced commands are fairly common and requires some practice to avoid.
But given the open source nature and how much content comes packed in, these issues are easy to overlook because otherwise this game fulfills everything ive been looking for in a strategy game on tablet.
Special thanks to the dev team for all the effort they've put into this!

  • A classic!

My cousin introduced me to this game 15 years ago, and I loved it, I played it on and off for years. It’s really awesome that they’ve brought it on IPad. I’m having tons of fun and it’s bringing a bunch of great memories back. (PS: the music is fab)
  • Absolutely Fantastic

Just a great game, played this for hours back around 2008 on my old iMac. (Ahhh memories) They changed nothing about this from the old version I played on my iMac, WHICH IS AMAZING!!! They added and zoom feature to make movement and attack easier on your phone. The campaigns are fun and the stories are creative. The unit advancement and variations of attacks, counters, and effects make this AWESOME! It just feels old school and really plays well. I just can’t believe I can finally play this game again, and play it on my phone!!! I hope someone is making add ons and more campaigns as I type this. This really is nostalgia for millennials who wanted to be gen xers!

  • Not a Casual Game

This game has been punishing for a noob like myself - unlike most games for iPad or phones, this requires careful planning. An understanding of terrain, character types and movement, monster stats and careful use of resources are all needed to succeed.

Otherwise, with enemies spawning constantly, each campaign ends in death by attrition. If you enjoy old-style strategy games that requires plenty of patience and creative thinking, this is for you.

  • One Of My Fav Strategy Games

Hi my name is Tearippa I have played this game many years. The point of a strategy game is to be not so simple to beat and the instant gratification you get when you beat a game that you know took skill and time and planning is the best feeling for me. Wesnoth has it all. Even when I lose in multiplayer I still have so much fun cause I think about what I could’ve done better to beat the match. They also have survival mode wich you go against ai (aka: The Computer) to dominate or completely lose. Either way you will enjoy this game if you are a true strategist.

  • It is a great game that I Have Been Waiting For A Long Time!

I have been searching for game apps in IPhone that might satisfy me. There is not a lot of games like that except this one is one of the most satisfying to play. Factions and units are unique and different from one another. The units levelling up system, is like a system that is similar to kingdom rush where u have to choose between two upgrades(sometimes three or one) depending upon our play style and such.

I hate though is the random chance of hitting a target. Even though my units have a higher chance to hit an enemy, you will still miss.

Still this is something you can overcome this by overwhelming the enemy unit with superior numbers and it is still a great accidental download I have ever made!

I am looking forward for an update on Dunefolk faction. Great job developers. Applause to you!

  • Painfully addictive

Highly engaging strategy game. Past the initial purchase, NO in-app purchases. Dozens of mainline campaigns and hundreds of user-made campaigns (Legend of the Invincibles is highly recommended) across a wide spectrum of difficulty, with massive variety in scenarios.

Bog-standard orcs vs. elves fantasy? Plenty of that. Postapocalyptic desert elves fighting eldritch abominations? Also available! Want to fight the necromancer? Go right ahead. Want to BE the necromancer? Get ready to smash some do-gooders! And in user-made campaigns, you can play as just about anything… including a giant cuttlefish.

Try it out, seriously. Just make sure you have some spare time.

  • GET THIS TERRIFIC GAME!

I have been playing this game on desktop since probably 2002! It is very easy to get into, but the depths and strategy does not leave me wanting. The unit options and growth tree is excellent. You can play stories and scenarios vs computer or play online against friends. There’s nothing not to like! (except when you miss on your 75% chance to hit, haha)
