I love Wesnoth, but this version is not very playable
I am a long time, big fan of Wesnoth. It is my go-to, a game that I always like to play. I have been waiting for the moment it was available on iPhone, and particularly when they’d be able to fix more of the bugs, etc.
This version, which I just paid to download, doesn’t really seem to work:
A. I hate the drag to move feature. I really miss the double tap. It’s nice to be able to zoom in and out, but not really at the expense of the double tap.
B. It doesn’t seem to save any of my games. Any time I close the app, when I re-open, all of my saved games are gone. This pretty much makes it unplayable. I don’t know if there are any settings that can fix this. I don’t know if I’m running out of storage on my phone or something? Whatever the case, it isn’t obvious or easy for me to find. And the game is currently unplayable for me.
I love Wesnoth, but I regret downloading this recent version. Not sure how to get this fixed.Show lessumbrella shoes

I remember playing this game in high school, in my CompSci class, on maaany many different Linux distros. I’ve already gotten many hours of fun playtime on this game and I cant wait to see what has been added/changed over the years. $4 is WELL worth the time I’ve already spent in this game; even if nothing has changed since my HS days, I am happy to pay the asking price. Great BUT....
A lot of crashes. Can’t log onto the add-on server without a crash which really takes away from the core game.

So tired of pay to play and time based bs. It is refreshing to go back to the days of buy the game and play as much as you like. Is it a perfect game of course not but they did a great job and it is very worth playing.

Add-ons
The game is still good but when ever I am near the end of my campangs the game freezes then logs me off for no reason it is impossible to play if it keeps doing this I bought this game to play it not to get logged of every single minute pls fixkitty027
Please Help Find My Saved Games
This is definitely a five star game with a serious problem. Using the latest version of the game on an iPad mini 4 using the latest iOS, it keeps losing the saved games. It is so frustrating after hours of brilliant gameplay making good progress, to have to go back to the start of a scenario because all of the saved files have disappeared. Great game
I’ve really enjoyed playing through the campaigns and picking some more up from the free add-ons has added a lot of variety. The UI needs a little work—some of the words overlap. I’d still give it 5 stars because of the community that just adds content and mods for free. Compared to other apps, if you like turn-based strategy and role playing, this is the best I’ve found. Lots of fun to be had in multiplayer with friends, too!Show lessGenethesis
Very Enjoyable game
Nice app everything is nicely done. The lobby crashes too much though atm guys. When I get in the game its usually fine 99% of the time. The lobby however is buggy- PM someone and crashes guaranteed, scroll down too fast crashes, press more than one button in a minute crashes, maybe a redesign of the lobby to a simplified version iphone or ipad orientated could fix it? I am playing from iphone 11. Also ‘exiting to main menu’/lobby is crashing too guaranteed. And in created room cannot see chat so well, all of this is lobby based. Latest update meets the mark
I am upgrading my rating from 1 to 4 stars. The latest update has solved the game crash and the unresponsive commands. I am able to play Wesnoth again and enjoy it greatly. I have been playing over the last month, often daily, and have only had one crash. Thank you developers. New content will get you 5 stars, just saying.... Overall money well spent.
I have been playing this game since the iPod touch version, but the latest updates have caused me nothing but grief. The commands were unresponsive making play very difficult, so I was overjoyed when I saw an update this morning. Now any command I choose for a unit causes the game to crash. I will be taking a time out from playing this game and hope the bugs get worked out. I am using a iPhone 8 with iOS 13.3.1.Show lessBob the Lion

Happy to hear it’s good for you! Please check out the add-ons. I’m quite sure this will satisfy the need for more content. I personally recommend “Invasion from the Unknown”. (Admittedly, add-ons screen was broken for high resolutions before the last update, but it’s working now).
