I’m a mom using the app. It works most of the time. There are some books I can find on Renaissance but not through the app. I’d love to be able to add check marks to books my son has tested on. I love the ability to scan on the app but then have to run to Renaissance to see if my son has taken an AR on the book.Show lessevilgreencows

Thank you for using BookScanner and leaving a review. We do find that some barcodes are not listed on the AR website even though the book can be found by title and author. We offer the ability to search by title and author if the ISBN can't be found, but sometimes that still isn't successful. In these cases, there is sometimes a second barcode inside the book on the first few pages; quite often this barcode will scan successfully. I appreciate the feature request and will certainly incorporate it into the list of possible options for future versions.Unable to level many books

I needed guided reading levels. Once I downloaded the app and paid for it, I found that you have to pay extra for that information. You barely get any info for the price of the app, unless you pay extra. Other apps give you that info automatically when you buy them, so I would suggest checking other ones instead.Show lessAnnoyed user girl

Hello. I’m sorry to hear that there was confusion on what was provided with the base level of BookScanner. The app description states that ATOS (AR) levels are provided by default and that after an additional purchase additional book level information is provided. This is done in part due to the origins of BookScanner being for those who use the Accelerated Reader system. Additional leveling systems were added at a later date, and I didn’t want to raise the price of the app for anyone who doesn’t need this additional info. I try to be as clear as possible in the description what is provided for the purchase price and what is for an additional one-time fee.Classroom Library Game Changer
Love this for helping me to level my classroom library books, as well as allowing me to record the AR Quiz numbers inside each book.
My students can easily find books are better fit with their reading levels along with giving them more independence and control during their weekly book shopping time. Even my students can use the app to check for quiz numbers for almost any book they pick up.
I love, too, how I can quickly find the levels for books I wish to use for small groups and book clubs.

This app does a wonderful job of identifying books quickly and efficiently using the ISBN number found on the back of the book. This is a game changer for any teacher who is organizing their library or constantly updating it with new books. I’ve used BookScanner for several years now. Today while using the app, it would continue to not scan my barcodes correctly. So I looked back at some previous reviews and saw that others were having problems in the last few months.
Someone with app company said to delete the app and reinstall. Well, I did that and now ALLLLL of my history of books (over thousand of books) are missing from my history!!! I’m sooo incredibly frustrated and disappointed as I use this for my classroom library to keep track of books I have purchased! Ughhhhhh!!!Show lessToeDoe2021

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. Deleting the app is always a last resort as your scanned history will be deleted with the app from your device. The history is backed up with your device, so if you have an iCloud backup or some other back that you can restore from then you can get the history back. I purchased this app because of the high reviews. As a teacher I have a lot of books to level. Out of the first five books I scanned, the app had no information on three, the fourth book scanned came up with the wrong book altogether and the fifth gave a Lexie level but not the F&P.Teach18First
Great app! Worth the $
This app has been a great help while looking for books for my children! I wish I could type in the titles but being able to scan the barcode is also great too! Love the app! I think it’s well worth the small amount of money paid!184921127

Thank you for the feedback. I’m glad you are enjoying BookScanner. If you want to search by title, you can tap the globe icon in the top right of the main screen. This will bring up the search page where you can enter the title and/or author to find all the titles available on ARBookFind that you can then tap on and add to your history list.
