I used to really like this app
When I first got them app it would let me know the grade level of almost any book I scanned. Now it will find the title of the book and author but give the error message of it can’t find the book. What? I am sad that this app isn’t working well any longer.Alice Knapp
Really Poor, waste of money
After scanning more than twenty books and not getting any results despite the details coming up when checked on the arbookfind.co.uk website, I think It is time to give up, Waste of money sadlyBarry McParland

I’m sorry to hear that you have had issues identifying books on the UK site. The US and UK AR site has very different ISBNs listed per title. Have you switched your version to the UK website? If you tap the question mark icon on the top left of the screen, you should see a Switch to UK Quiz button. Once you tap this, all searches will go to the .co.uk site. Have had the app for about three days and it won’t connect to AR today. Was able to scan a few books using my iPad when I first downloaded the app and those didn’t transfer to the app on my iPhone. Disappointing to think I can’t switch between devices to scan the books into one database. Overall disappointed. Not worth the money.Show lessKAnne48

I’m sorry that you experienced issues looking up the book. I have identified the issue causing the error in BookScanner and this will automatically be updated on all copies of BookScanner within 24 hours. To force an update immediately, you can do the following: from the main screen, tap the ? icon in the top left, tap the Reset Search String button, and try to scan a book. This should update the BookScanner and start to properly identify books again. Please test and let me know if you still experience issues. I can be reached anytime at help@ifthendev.com. I love the app. Please add the option to mark the book as loaned and if it is a favorite. Please also allow a setting to add multiple books without having to hit scan each time. There is so much potential for this app for teachers and parents.hello readers

Some book would not scan and it would not let me go to search by title so it is a great app but in conclusion there is some problem you need to work oniishbj
Barcode doesn’t always work
I got this app so I can scan the barcodes and not have to go to the AR website and type in the name of the book. But many many times the barcode says not found but the book is found when you type in the title to search.mbrow55

There are a number of different reasons why BookScanner may not identify the book you are scanning, even though you can manually find the book on ARBookFind.com. We do our best to identify the title of the book by the barcode that you scan, but some publishing houses issue many barcodes for the same title and they are not all listed in the AR database (while the title of the book may be). If we can’t find the barcode in the AR database, then we make several attempts to identify the title of the book and then search AR based on the title and author. Still, there are times where this does not properly identify the book you are scanning. We are constantly trying to improve BookScanner, so I would really appreciate it if you would send me the title and author of the books that aren’t working along with a picture of the barcode that you are scanning (help@ifthendev.com). This will help me do some research and see if there are additional improvements that can be implemented. One thing that we’ve noticed is that some books will have a second barcode inside the front cover of the book. This barcode typically works better than the one on the back of the book. BookScanner scans and positively identifies thousands of books per day, and it does work for the vast majority of books that our users scan. With that being said, we are constantly trying to improve and would really appreciate you sending along additional information to us so we can continue to improve.Add to history problem
When searching for a book title, if only one book comes up, I can easily “Add to History”. But if a list of books pulls up and I select the one I want, it takes me to a new page and the “Add to History” link is Greyed out. I use the add to history feature a lot to help remember books my child has read before he can take the AR tests.
Also, a lot of scholastic books and Scooby-Doo! Books pull up a Spanish title when the barcode is scanned. These are books that are on the AR list and I can find them if I type in the title, but the barcode scanning function is not finding the correct book.Show lessNaptimeIsForGames

My recommendation to add a book to history is to add additional information (try the title and author) to limit the search results. This is the only way that the title can be added to your scanned history. I am interested in digging into the issue you are seeing with the books coming up as the Spanish version. How do I search with the title of the book? I clicked on the globe looking thing it’s takes me to a blank page with search and history at the bottom but When I click search it takes me to the scanner!!!! I do not want to scan I want to type in the title?AlyssaAP
Don’t waste your money or your time.
This book scanner can’t find the right books 90% of the time. I’ve had better luck just going to AR Book Find and typing in the titles. That website finds them every time! I thought it would be amazing to have an inventory of my library books, but it keeps adding the wrong titles to my inventory, so it is pretty much worthless.
