  • New update, new problems

I’ve always loved this app and have been using it for 6 years. Unfortunately the new update has created some new issues. When editing a trip the date and time I enter does not save, the date and time at which I am I am editing becomes the new date and time instead and moves the trip from its original date. Manual trips no longer start from where your last trip ended and now I have to enter all the details, which vehicle, starting mileage, starting location, etc.

  • Love this app but....

I drive 2000 miles a month as a salesperson and I’ve always loved this app and recommended it. The latest update is a bit frustrating; the sound volume has diminished; at max it’s about 60% of the sound compared to the other radio / podcast apps coming through my fm transmitter. Also, the new audio and graphic notices are distracting, they used to sit comfortably behind my audio and now stay on the screen too long.
I still think this is the best navigation app out there but sometimes intended improvements are either not needed or not really improvements.

  • Awesome! Been using this app for close to 3 years!

I work multiple jobs which require me to track my work mileage and this app is great at allowing me to keep track of all my miles. I recently had a problem with my data not syncing to a new phone and support was very helpful in helping me figure out how to get everything working again. It’s great that I can access all my data both via my phone app and by using a computer browser. This is a subscription type app but it is affordable and worth every penny, I highly recommend it!

  • Convienient & Easy to use

Before I downloaded this app, I researched and found that TripLog had the best views. I have been very pleased. It’s easy to use and extremely helpful was to organize my receipts. My only recommendations for updates would be to have a way to remove the red ‘dot’ for notifications, to widen the number of credit cards that can sync, and to allow an ‘auto track’ to turn on Monday - Friday from xxx - xxx. I don’t want my job to track my personal time, and if I forget to shut off the auto start, they can.

  • Solid app

I downloaded ten of the most popular mileage tracking apps. One week later I’m left with only TripLog. The other apps either did not track my mileage reliably or accurately, or their monthly subscriptions were ridiculous. I did notice this app, left running 24/7 in the background, will be a drain on my battery. The problem seemed a lot worse on my iPhone 7 than my iPhone XS. TripLog isn’t perfect, but it seems to work really well for my basic needs, it is always being updated, and it’s very reasonably priced for annual or monthly subscriptions. Great customer support too.

  • Great app when it works

I have troubleshot this app since day one. I have logged 15+ emails with support and have sent error logs, over 4 batches now, and to date their tech support can only do one thing well...Ask for more error logging and repeating the same process or asking me to join their beta, because they apparently don’t have enough people working on QA and bug testing on their end. Their final resolution to my problem was to wait until they introduce their new hardware (a BT hardware solution to offload GPS functionality to a dedicated piece of hardware that would then communicate the data to the iPhone for recording auto starts and stops and actual mileage). As if they could design, QA, and troubleshot hardware better than apple. They are now doing what all the auto manufacturers have proven they can’t do, and that is design, manufacture and deploy mobility hardware solutions for driving better than consumer electronic giants like Apple. TripLog, the solution is really quite simple, solve your software problem, focus on automating error logging and memory leaks, and fix your software integration with apple hardware. DON’T try to fix your sloppy software, with creating hardware solutions.

    Developer Response

Hi there, I see that you experienced the iOS restart issue. This is a rare issue that has occurred in a small handful of our users and is caused by iOS closing and restarting our app while it is running in the background. Typically this is caused by iOS settings or other battery-intensive apps running at the same time as TripLog. This is a problem that can occur in all mileage tracking apps that run in the background on iOS products, however, this issue is very rare. The developers at TripLog are currently working on a way to minimize the impact of these iOS app restarts. I apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. If you would like to learn more about how we are handling this issue, please contact us at support@bizlog.com and I will be happy to explain! Best Regards, Nolan TripLog
  • Great app

I love this app. I like that I can choose to have it follow my gps or manually enter the destinations. You can also choose to have it log everything or just the trips you want. You can name destinations to make it easy. I use this for my business as I travel at least 120 miles per day. The reports are great. I tried other apps, including the Quickbooks one and it does not even compare. No concerns and I have an iphone. Would recommend to everyone who needs to track mileage.

  • Program crashing

I pay $20 a year I expect it to work I have had this program for years I like this program because it does what I wanted to do until now. I have been losing days it’s been dropping miles it’s not auto starting like it supposed to what is going on all of a sudden. I’ve rebooted my phone I’ve uninstalled the program reinstalled it I’m not liking what I’m getting. Additionally they changed it to where if I need to update my mileage I can’t just put the numbers in anymore you have to hit the positive sign because if you do just put the numbers in it ignores it and goes back to where you’re at because I sometimes drive my husbands car that’s not work related and so therefore when I get back in my car the mileage is different so I really don’t like how this is been affected.

  • Nice feature - not many bugs - good support

First off I use an IPhone just to mention that point for iPone users as sometimes phones may have issues to some apps. I have had a few minor bugs. One is where a category of the same name popped up on my app. I did not yet take it off as I did not want to risk loosing details if I deleted it or the wrong one. I have email to support on this one today. Some of the bugs I had was a lack of understanding or wrong settings on my part I feel. So make sure you take time to set them right in beginning. I have used this for about a year. I think it missed a couple trips over the past year but to give them the benefit of the doubt I question if somehow I deleted them in error. I am not one for doing anything to apps until I talk to support. I am not a tech person. I will say their support is pretty good as they get back to you by email in a day or two. Knock on wood it has never crashed on me. My experience so far I rate them a four out of five but a close five just because I have been happy with their support so far.

  • Used To Be a Great App

I have been using this app for almost a year and it was great in the beginning. When comparing features versus price it was a great value. However, over the last several months it has become a buggy, unreliable app. There are many instances where the app failed to begin tracking a trip despite the fact that I have plug-and-go enabled. The most annoying behavior is that it frequently fails to track the beginning of my trips. In these cases it starts recording map points at some point in the middle the trip, resulting in inaccurate tracking. I’m constantly having to make corrections to my trips. What’s the point of having this app if I end up inputting manually all the time? Since I don’t have faith that it will be corrected any time soon I will begin searching for an alternate app.
