Graphically very polished but serious bug present
Update (Dec ‘18): Issues mentioned below are now fixed by the developer in latest release so rating increased to 5 stars to reflect the current level of functionality. :-)
Original review: While this app is graphically very nice and the user interface is great, it does contain a serious bug which could compromise flight safety. Therefore I’ve had to rate it a one star due to the severity. This is a pity because this one significant flaw really lets down an otherwise excellent app.
For info, I reported this to the developer approx 7 months ago but have not heard anything back from them or received any updates to the app since then so pretty poor support really considering the severity of the issue.
The details of the bug are as follows:
- When using the 'take off' page I've found that the ground roll and take off distances do not get updated when the altimeter pressure setting is set greater then 'std' (29.92" / 1013.2mb). This is also true on the ‘landing’ page. This bug can therefore give rise to calculated take off and landing distances which are in error (i.e. calculated distances being displayed LOWER than actual!), especially in the case of conditions involving high ambient air temps.
I don’t know if this bug is also present in the other aircraft types, I presume that it does as this a probably a common piece of code which is shared between the apps?
I hope this bug gets corrected soon, before someone gets caught out by it! As soon as this bug is corrected then I’ll update my rating to a 5*.
