  • Good food garbage app

    - SLOWWWW. Oh my god it’s so slow! I spend 75% of my time in this app staring at the 3 loading dots. Any time you click basically anything! This applies to the user interface in general too. I want to click two buttons and have my lunch arrive like I do on DoorDash. Instead buttons are small and in the wrong places and you have to click a million of them.

    - the “Kustomer” powered chat support is so bad. It ends chats randomly. Instead of replying to your message inside the same chat window, it will spawn a separate conversation you can’t even see unless you happen to go backwards. The prefilled response option buttons for you to choose from don’t load in the chat window sometimes. So frustrating. Such a waste of time.

    - if you have DashPass, SweetPass has zero value proposition compared to just ordering on DoorDash. Side note, the selection options are limited or buggy on DoorDash which makes it so you have to use this app to select multiple dressings for example sometimes. Also, the SweetPass benefit has to be clicked every time to be redeemed.

    - having to constantly select “delivery” and my location is a pain and constantly re entering your address is just asking for a typo

    - reordering is not 1 click. Things like utensils and delivery instructions don’t save.

    - no Apple Pay or PayPal

Really disappointing. It feels like they’re not trying. A huge missed opportunity.

  • Doesn’t accurately reflect what’s in stock

I’m not sure who’s at fault for this, but the app CONSTANTLY tells me that my local NYC sweetgreens are out of certain ingredients when they’re actually not. This is especially annoying when I try to order an online-only salad and it claims they’re out of a key ingredient. I know it’s probably not true, and when I show up at the restaurant I can SEE it’s not true, but they still don’t allow me to order the salad in person. Then when I order it through the app, the ingredient they’re “out of” doesn’t even show up on the ticket. I’ve had the reverse problem as well: I had a “reward” in the app for a free can of a specific beverage. When I tried to redeem it in an online order, not only did it not show up on the ticket the store received, they were entirely out of the item. They kindly offered me a different drink instead.
Stop aggressively pushing customers to use the app when it doesn’t even accurately reflect the items in stock at the restaurant!! And stop with the “online exclusive” nonsense!!

  • Maddeningly Bad App, Good food

This app and the transaction experience is infuriating. Signed up, oops my email is already in use. Reset password, email takes several minutes. Create new password, then use it to log in. None of my info is in the account, except an old credit card. It took upwards of 30s to add any item to my cart. I set an updated default payment method, which was not honored at checkout, so the transaction bounced. Then the restaurant was out of both items I ordered. Then it “forgot” to apply the free delivery promo until I backed out and restarted the transaction.
Fixing many of these things is easy. Add single sign on from Apple/Google etc, support Apple Pay, PayPal, etc. so I don’t have to trust people who can BARELY a salad app with my card info, email, and a password. Overall, not having these features made the transaction take longer than walking down to the restaurant.

  • The limitation of 3 modifications can be frustrating

When you order one of their salads and have modifications, it is limited to 3 and then thereafter you cannot make any more changes. If that is to reduce the “complexity” for the staff I guess that makes sense, but the limit of 3 should not be applied to the number of dressings you can get. Once you make 3 modifications to the items in the salad you can no longer order extra dressing. And in my humble opinion 1 dressing per salad is almost never enough and I need to order at least 2 sides of dressing per salad. So that really reduces the flexibility you have to change items in the salad. I’m vegetarian so I always have at least one modification taken up by swapping out the chicken or other meat for tofu.

  • Pretty good, a few tweaks would make it great

It’s still faster to go to the store than to order on the app, though that’s starting to get better.

Other weird quirk - the app doesn’t let you access previous orders once you start ordering from the menu. The problem is that when they’re out of some ingredient, it replaces it automatically which is fine. But when you reorder, you want the original order not the one it did the replacement on. So when you start ordering from previous orders, you end up with the auto-replacement order not the thing you want.

  • Areas for improvement

When you go to the HP of the app, a prompt to review your last order takes up half the screen. I’m not sure why this is prioritized so much on such valuable real estate…do people want to rate every salad they eat? The food is all very consistent which is great.
I wish instead new offerings and the menu would be prioritized on the homepage. I find it crazy hard to find the menu…I’m still not sure where its at. I just order from the past orders on the bottom of HP which is easy..but would be nice to have some product discovery.

  • Two Annoying bugs

#1 After a favorite order is added to the bag(repeat order), clicking the “Modify” hyperlink opens the customization options for ingredients and there is no way to change the dressing from “on the side” or “mixed in”. I tap cancel and returns to bag. When I tap modify, I’m presented options to modify ingredients multiple times. Only method I’ve found is to click Modify cancel a bunch of times until I’m presented the sauce quantity options again. Weird glitch. #2 When initially ordering an item I find it confusing I add it to my bag, then decide if I was dressing on the side. I would think adding to the bag is the last step.

The food is great though. But that is what Yelp is for.

  • Fresh, delicious, and convenient

The app makes it so easy to order, and they have great salads as well as custom options. I live close to the Brentwood store so I am always ordering from there, but it’s so simple to switch to other locations when I’m out and about. The Brentwood store has great customer service and they are always so friendly. The food is always fresh and delicious and makes it so I can get some nutritious meals in several times a week. If I order through the app I get notifications, and it’s always ready on time. Picking up is a breeze. Highly recommend!

  • Underwhelmed in Berkeley

I walked up to the window to order a salad and asked for a menu. I was given a card and told the menu was online. I held my phone’s camera over the card and informed that I would have to download an app. All the time I’m doing this I can see the menu and watch employees checking their phones. I download the app, look at the menu and gesture that I’m ready to order. Employee tells me that I have to order online. A line has formed behind me now. I attempt to order and encounter drop down menus for every possible combination and all the while my blood sugar’s dropping. After the 3rd menu asking what kind of seeds I want, I throw up my hands and walk away with my lunch break fading in the distance.
Unbelievable. I actually have to give you a star to review this? 1 is too many.

  • They lied about a promotion

When I opened this app I got a message that said there was a $5 credit for all orders in the Atlanta area until tomorrow 4/26 When I placed my order there was no credit. I contacted support and chatted with someone via text message who lied to me about the promotion and acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about. Then I asked to speak to a manager and refund my order. The person refused to escalate it to a manager. The person then cancelled my order, not refund which is me getting my order and getting it refunded. I had to reorder. My order was cancelled again after waiting another hour for my meal. I emailed support this time and attached a screenshot of the text message where the person from support lied to me about having knowledge of the $5 promotion. I am awaiting a response. If this review is still up, then they ignored my email as well. Sweet green customer service is the worst I have ever seen and blatantly lying about promotions, bait and switch, is illegal and they need to be investigated.
