This VPN is now a scam

I used this service with monthly subscription with no issues. I then pre-paid 2 years of service, and they silently disabled the Vancouver server (the exact reason I used it). They didn’t even notify the customer, they didn’t even remove the “Vancouver, CA” server from the UX — they simply, frustratingly just disabled the click function on the icon. So, you’d sit there clicking it over and over and over thinking it was a hardware/software issue, and not that they’d removed services with no announcement or indication. Since then, the VPN cannot be used for ANY service. My bank account has been locked when trying to connect on their servers, along with multiple other services locked. Their servers (I’ve spent hours rotating through every available server testing this) can no longer even load Google’s main website. Every single one is flagged and IP banned. I have been demanding a refund for my services for months and nothing has come of it. Their customer service is useless and their chat bot fails to load every single time now. At his point, this is honestly a scam. It is no longer a VPN, it is not at all a functional service — they are simply taking your money with zero services rendered. Infuriating.

Scam app, auto-renewing and doesn’t stop taking payments!

I got a year at a discounted price and must have paid with Apple Pay, I thought my year had stopped and I went to check the app to see if they had any deals and found they auto renewed me at a higher price. I emailed and complained in December 2023 and no reply, I of course made sure that auto-renewal was now completely switched off and that my payment details were deleted. It’s now Nov 13th and they have sent me an invoice, they have my Apple Pay details somehow and there’s no cancellation method when I log in.

Picks and chooses when it wants to work. Sometimes when connected still says using an unblocking proxy. When it does work, can see American shows

Invades Your Privacy

I don’t know why you’re so excited to introduce this feature. I did not ask you to be continuously scanning the Dark Web for information about me and how do I know that you’re unauthorised scanning of the dark web isn’t actually spreading my information? And the little message saying urgent action required is not appreciated, especially when after clicking on it I’m informed that I have to pay for this so-called service.

Very bad customer service

I have requested for a refund after the recurring payment which was not intended to renew. I reached them on the next day after the payment and they are not giving back money I lost 250$ in two years without using it. They are saying it’s not in the policy. The policy doesn’t says anything about you won’t get a refund for recurring payments. Very bad VPN service

The 31-day money-back guarantee applies only to the initial purchase of a PureVPN subscription. Unfortunately, we cannot process refunds for recurring payments as per our policy.

Very Difficult to Configure

The software has many positive points, and is probably the best out there in a sea of really bad software. But you can't just click a location and connect and it just works. It requires lots of complex configuration that requires their adequate chat support people to assist with, and I work in technology!

Most notable issues include the interface and menus change, but the documentation does not get updated. Also my biggest complaint is that they stopped supporting internet kill switch for MacOS, which I believe is a major oversight of a widely used and pretty basic VPN feature.

Absolute Disaster - Avoid PureVPN at All Costs

PureVPN is, without a doubt, the worst VPN service I’ve ever used. From the moment I signed up, it was nothing but frustration. The connection drops constantly, making it impossible to stream anything without interruptions. When it does stay connected, the speeds are so slow that even basic web browsing feels like I’m back in the dial-up days.

Their customer service is an absolute joke. It took ages to get a response, and when they finally did, they were unhelpful and dismissive. They couldn’t solve any of my issues, and their so-called ‘24/7 support’ is more like ‘whenever we feel like it’. The app is frequently riddled with bugs and crashes, and the user interface is outdated and unintuitive.

To make matters worse, the refund policy is misleading. Despite their claims of a ‘no questions asked’ refund guarantee, they made it extremely difficult to get my money back, and I had to jump through countless hoops.

Overall, PureVPN is a complete waste of money. It’s unreliable and slow, and its customer service is atrocious. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. PureVPN should be avoided at all costs.

It is a scam

Explicitly ask to remove my credit card information. They refused and just claim that they will not auto subscribe. Today they charged me some $1300 USD for a full package like 5 year or so. Without my authorisation and no notification at all.
