  • Exactly what I want

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for an app but feel compelled to because this one is so spot on for what I was looking for. I am someone who would bring a workout routine book to the gym and write in all of my exercises, weights, and reps by hand. Then copy the data over to excel and look at the progress. This app is the PERFECT substitute. It’s very cleverly designed, it’s very simple and intuitive to how to log a training session, and then there is a huge layer of complexity underneath it all that allows you to look deeper at whatever tiny detail you want. I absolutely love it. THANK YOU to whoever designed this app, there are so many fitness apps out there doing way too much and this one just hits it out of the park for people who are serious about training and logging their progress. 10/10

Thank you so much for this review :) You pinpointed exactly my goals when designing this app. To make it quick and easy to track, but to allow for depth when you need it ;) //Simon
  • Almost there

I’ve been using RepCount and Strong at the same time for close to a month now and unfortunately, I’m canceling my RepCount subscription and continuing with Strong.

While RepCount has much better stats that are easier to see, two features that are missing for me that Strong has:

    - Updates my workout template based on the workout I just did. In RepCount, I have to do this manually or if I am doing another workout from a routine, I constantly have to add a set to see if a previous workout had more sets. I know it updates the weight and reps but sets would be great too.

    - Just being able to quickly mark a set as done with the preset information. Just make the grayed out circle clickable and have it mark that set as complete.

The stats are much better in RepCount but I only view the stats every so often, versus these two which I’m doing every workout.

Lastly, I’d love to see a Tabata like timer added that will run you through an entire workout or an exercise. I have to use something like SmartWOD for this.

Hi! Thanks for the review. 1: You can set the number of sets in the routine itself. You can also easily update the routine by tapping the more button in the top right corner, then save as routine. It will ask if you want to overwrite the existing routine. 2: You can easily do this without having to type weights or reps. Just swipe right and the set is completed. 3: For the Tabata like timer. This isn't something that neither RepCount or any of the competitors I know of includes. I have received the request a couple of times, but there are other features that get requested more frequently that I have to put higher priority on. If you have any more feedback or questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me via the in app support feedback feature. I am always open for feedback or questions and usually get back to you very quickly. Have a great day! //Simon
  • Essential app, highly recommended

I recently started a structured weightlifting program (5/3/1) and this app has helped me stay on track and motivated. After only one month, it's hard to imagine working out without RepCount. It's simple, flexible, and very well designed — with no ads or extraneous features to distract you. It's obviously created by someone who uses the app and has considered all the details and relevant use cases for most lifters. The free version is good as a basic log, but the premium version (which is reasonably priced) is where the app really shines. It's great to be able to track my progress visually with all the charts (1 rep max, 1RM/BW, volume, etc). Thanks Simon!

  • Game Changer

I’m 5 months into without missing a single day at the gym and I attribute it to this app. This app is was/is a game changer for me. I used to just wing my weights and never could commit to progressive overload because I didn’t have a good system of tracking. I looked into different options and the simple yet complex UX design of this app is amazing. You can tell the developer studied every move of the customer journey. I could easily jump in and use this app without having to understand all the layers of it. I started with the free version for two months and it was perfect. Once I was lifting more I wanted to see my progress so I purchased it. When you purchase it, the statistics and tracking make lifting much more motivating. This app adds accountability and an element of structured fun that makes follow through more attainable. I will never not use this app.

I would love a way to have plate counting element on the app because if I’m not in this app I’m using my calculator. Probably not necessary but fun to consider!

Thank you so much Kathryn! I do get a lot of requests for a plate calculator, especially from U.S. users. It is definitely a feature that is in the back of my mind for a future update, even though is is always hard for me to say exactly when new features gets added. //Simon
  • WAS incredible

I’ve been using this app for 7 years now. It’s incredible. I purchased it for $10 about 5 years back. Recently, I got my brother into lifting and had him get the app. I was surprised they now charge a subscription fee for new users! It’s a good app, but if you need to pay a subscription to write down your workout, you might as well use google sheets, pen and paper, your phone notes or literally anything else.

  • Good For Basics - Paywall For All Else

If you need to keep electronic tracking if your workouts, this will allow you to at least track the basics of exercise/sets/reps. Everything else is behind a pay wall, which would be fine if they had a one time charge. Why is this a subscription based program? It’s just to track workouts. What drastic improvements can be made on a consistent basis that this app requires a monthly or annual charge? Outside of that, you can track and use the in-app timer which I think is a great addition. You can’t use history graphs or anything else beyond simple tracking without paying.

  • Works Just great for me

Not much to say but im glad i can have all my workouts in order and note down what i have to for each exercise along with the grouping and multiplication of sets it does what its supposed to i will say it has a glitch with when you try and erase something when typed…but besides that shouldn't be a problem overall great app!

  • Best Among Similar Apps - Free Version Has Lots of Functions

Like many others, I downloaded a handful of similar apps and tried them all. This one is one of two I’ve kept for the final trial - it’s easy to use / navigate and allows you to add your own exercises if they don’t have it preset. You can track reps / weight and leave notes next to each exercise (all on the free version). I’m pleasantly surprised and based on this, I might grab the premium version for $2.50 per month to check out the additional features.

  • Great app

This is a great app for people who want a straightforward way to track daily workouts and reps/weights without a lot of fuss. Extremely easy to use and has exactly the right amount of features (including a rest timer!) for someone like me who likes to lift weights but doesn’t want to fuss with anything complicated.

  • Good to stay consistent

I’m a person who wouldn’t normally be consistent on stuff and I really needed to be to workout and build muscle, this app is simple and perfect to help me stay consistent. You have a log of the workouts you have done and ever time I do workout again it shows your recent reps/time and makes you to always beat it even by one which is great for competitive people. 5 Star app
