Leave a Review Hinge Dating App
Not a fan
Not a fan of the new limiting me not being able to continue to match if I have more than 8 people waiting for a reply, not as good of a feature as hinge thinks it is. I can totally see the reason it’s to push users to buy premium. All I e experienced so far is lower effort responses and more responses of men requesting my number or instagram straight way. Which I prefer not to give out immediately as I like to gage for atleast a couple of messages if they can hold a conversation and to make sure they don’t say something completely outlandish and creepy and now I feel more inclined to share this personal information with the new feature. I am also Australian so the dating culture is definitely different here than other places around the world (a lot more low effort) all I have experienced with the addition of this new feature is men asking me sooner to just come over straight from the app it’s not responding in more dates.Show lessTerrible platform and lack of customer support
I recently got banned due to the algorithm thinking I was under 18 (I’m 25). I’ve tried submitting an appeal and I’ve been met with some of the worst customer support I’ve ever experienced. Replies are days and sometimes weeks apart, unresolved issues and being asked to submit my DRIVERS LICENSE for proof of age (private information which they keep in their database). I submitted my ID to Socure (recommended by Hinge and Melissa the Trust and safety worker), they couldn’t “verify” my ID but the ID is still in their database along with all of my information. So they farm and keep my data (which I no longer give permission to use) but they deny me using their platform? So far there has been no resolution and support has not responded. Also the women on there are the absolute worst, they don’t want the human interaction they want the validation and attention. This is a huge waste of my time as someone who’s looking for a connection. A new policy should be implemented where all accounts automatically delete after 6 months, and you have to make the account again and match with people again in order to keep the time wasters off. That way if you only have 6 months to make a connection you’d take it more seriously. Otherwise risk loosing all your matches and free attention/validation.Show lessFor the 80% of Us Who Aren’t Models, Millionaires, or Matt Damon
Hinge calls itself the “app designed to be deleted.” And sure, that sounds promising — until you realize it’s more like being deleted from the pool of eligible bachelors if you’re a guy not in the top 20%. If you’re not rocking a six-pack, a six-figure salary, or a six-foot height (curse you, triple sixes), welcome to the dating equivalent of a ghost town.
Picture this: you’ve spent ages crafting your witty prompts, making sure your photos scream, “I’m fun but also chill,” and even sprinkled in a pic of you pretending to like hiking. You swipe right, eagerly awaiting the flood of matches… only to be greeted with the sweet sound of silence. That’s when you realize, Hinge isn’t about finding love; it’s about finding out how attractive society thinks you aren’t.
On the off chance someone does match with you, you think, “Finally, someone who appreciates my quirky sense of humor and average build.” Wrong! They either disappear faster than my enthusiasm for leg day or you get the infamous “like” with no intention of starting a conversation. It’s basically Tinder with more prompts and rejection served with a side of ‘you tried.’
In conclusion, if you’re not in the top 20%, Hinge is great! For character-building exercises. Forget finding a date — here’s where you’ll find humility, persistence, and possibly a therapist.Show less
