And the weather doesn’t update. Only uses the 6am weather. I thought you could check the weather any time. You can’t!!! ### 3/5 — Local *2026-06-11, version 50.12.0* Morgan W. Is wonderful as an anchor. Lauren is outstanding on the morning news also with Jo. Noah talks so fast half of us can’t understand anything he says. Danny is good and talks where you can understand him. This new update is atrocious. However, after the new design update, everything is a bright, ungodly white color. My device is set to dark mode and every time I open the app, it is like being blasted in the face by the sun. I always rely on the 5 news app for weather and since the update, it always says my location is in Fayetteville even after numerous times I’ve set my location to Fort Smith and have my location setting on. Half the time the radar and weather even load. The radar never works!!!!! ### 1/5 — New app HORRIBLE *2026-04-26* I am actually writing this before I delete the app due to its horrendous layout for the news and lack of both functionality and accuracy on the weather. I have always relied on KFSM and the actual meteorologists are still great for live coverage , but the app is absolutely worthless since the latest update. It has to be closed and reopened numerous times to get the weather to load then the radar does not load accurately when you finally do get it to open. The layout of the news headlines is a chaotic mess. The all white is awful. Stories are harder to find. Navigating is not near as simple as before. You can’t watch previously aired news. You added video shorts wtf. I want the news not shorts. If you like real news meant to inform and not evoke high emotions, I would look elsewhere.
