  • Access to top quality, advanced yoga series for at-home anywhere practice

Alo Moves has really helped me advance my yoga, giving me access to superbly sequenced practices by expert global instructors - far more than I could get by attending local classes alone.

It also has opened up my home practice, letting me do yoga at any time of day of my choosing; I have gone from twice a week classes to a daily self-practice which is, in turn, advancing me further as I am able to focus on, and hone my areas of interest rather than having to rely on what a teacher has chosen for that day’s class.

The app is also designed to work on my tablet, and has a clean p, uncluttered interface. My only perceived issue is that I would appreciate the ability to search/filter for specific poses that are covered in the classes, for those times when I am looking to practice a particular pose.

This is all round, an excellent app and excellent service, well worth every penny, especially for someone looking to take charge of and advance their practice

  • Great content, could improve functionality

I’ve used this since before it was Alo
Yoga (shoutout to the OG Codyapp). There’s great content on the app and I love that there’s a variety of options for different skills and levels. I love that there’s something for everyone.

I wish the filters worked better on the search. The “type” filter doesn’t work at all on my Apple TV and only displays the option for “all”, so I end up having to look for what I want on my browser first.

I also noticed when I upload photos with my workout , they end up stretched out/looking wide. I used to log progress photos with my workouts but don’t anymore because of this distortion.

Finally, I have a suggestion that I think would make the platform more usable. First of all, there’s a TON of content. I like to save things to “My Practice” but I think it would be helpful to have an option to make folders/categorize beyond that point (ex: under 15 min, hips, etc.). I have a lot of videos saved to my practice and it simply takes too long to find what I’m looking for even if I’ve saved it. It’s hard to fit time to workout in the day. 5 extra minutes spent searching for what I need can make or break whether I have enough time to exercise.

  • Decent App, but…

The app is ok with some good content. The selection isn’t the greatest. However, their business practices are a bit deceptive, so make sure you know how it works. Typically, when you subscribe to something through the App Store, you can cancel through the App Store. Not this app. After the initial year, the price is just way too high for what you get. I did enjoy some of the workouts and some were staples for me. I just can’t justify $215 for the limited selection offered. So, if you need to cancel, you’ll need to do it through the website. You can’t even do it through the app. I believe they make it as difficult as possible so that people are either unaware or give up trying to cancel.

  • The app is absolute garbage for the price

It has now gotten to the point where both the app AND the webpage glitches basically anytime I try to work out. It keeps locking me out and not recognising my log in, I have to reset my password and even if I can get onto my account, it often doesn’t save my workouts so I have to go looking for them all over again. It has been going on for weeks and I’m at the point of asking for a refund because I basically can’t use it when I need to.

  • Broken since update

Used to love this app but since latest update the videos keep freezing and jumping. Music keeps coming on and off. Impossible to do the workouts. Please fix

    Developer Response

  • App keeps crashing

I’ve been a longtime user of Alo Moves, and previously Cody. Many of my favourite teachers and classes are housed on this app. The latest transformations seem to be making the app increasingly buggy and unreliable to the point where now the app crashes upon startup and I cannot access the content. This is unacceptable for an app I pay so much (and have paid so much across many years!) to access. The developers seem more focussed on selling further products than providing the service users are paying for. Extremely disappointed.

  • Been using for years

I started with this platform when it was still codyapp. Favorites are still Meghan Currie, Dylan Werner and Patrick Beach; but also love now the additional Kundalini with Gurmukh!! Other new great teacher is Josh Kramer. I like the physically challenging classes but also the deep appreciation for yoga these teachers have.
As for the app, the music option is great although mostly I play my own.
If I could choose one upgrade would be to track progress and class like Peloton. Peloton has it figured out in terms of fitness tracker with the overview option to see the month at a glance.
Overall it’s a high quality app that I will forever use- and I’ve tried a lot of platforms!!
4 stars only due to the element I spoke of…

  • It seems they’ve made it as difficult as possible to cancel

I downloaded this last January as we went into lockdown to try and keep fit while we couldn’t leave the house. Being a subscription service, I assumed wrongly that it would appear on my list of subscriptions within my Apple account so that I could cancel it when it was no longer needed. It didn’t and there seemed to be no other way to cancel it within the app. When I log into the website it says I can’t link it to my Apple account, so I was stuck. The months passed and I forgot all about the app after it got offloaded from my phone as I’d not been using it, so the £163 I’ve just been charged as it auto renewed came as a complete surprise! If anyone from Alo Moved would like to point me in the direction of how you easily cancel this service and offer me a refund I’ll be happy to alter my rating, but it currently leaves a very bad taste in my mouth as I’m still non the wiser how to cancel and make sure it doesn’t renew next year!

  • Can’t Recommend Alomoves Enough!,

This is such a fantastic service, and app! Admittedly the website is easier to navigate, but the app is great for time away, vacations etc.
The instructors cover everything you could hope to do away from the pool or gym. And all levels catered for. The instructors are clear & precise, they explain options and Why’s & Wherefores. And they’re easy on the eye to boot! I genuinely can’t recommend AloMoves more! A (literal) lifesaver in lockdowns...! Couldn’t be more grateful!!

  • SO MUCH CONTENT FOR THE PRICE

I’m not new to training, or at home training but in the past I have found it hard to find the workout apps that motivate me.
So far I have only used the Fitness classes on Alo as I enjoy HIIT, Tabata, mixed strength and cardio type fitness.
It has all different class lengths too depending on how much time you have.
Once you find some instructors that suit you, it’s such a great go to.
A significant con for me though is the lack of music (option offered is pretty bad). I tend to put one ear pod in so I can hear instructions while listening to music, but not quite the same.
