  • Great app!

I love this! So innovative and takes a lot of guess work or anxiety out of the process. I have one suggestion.

I want to import my recipes and ones I’ve found online to the app. There’s a feature for that, but it’s very rough and doesn’t give me the customization that the preset recipes have. For example, the “Blue Bottle” recipes says to “pour / 40g of water for ten seconds.” However when you customize your own recipe you’re not able to detail how much water to pour. This is a very odd thing to leave out? It nullifies the idea of importing my own recipes so I don’t have to remember them... because I still have to remember them.

The app would immediately be 5 stars if I could use it to add my own recipes. For $4.99 it ought to allow me to do that.

  • Crashing

Try making a recipe 5 times and you’ll notice it will crash. Also adding notes sometime does this. The developer needs to update it to fix the bugs.
  • Useful but incomplete

As a newcomer to using the AeroPress I was looking for an app that could help me look for recipes and give me a chance to enter in my own.
The interface of using one of the pre-load recipes is very well designed and works quite well, taking you step by step through the brewing process.
The one thing that is frustrating me is that when I try to enter in my own recipe or one that I have found, the app crashes and force closes. This is MAJOR drawback to the app, especially given that I paid for it.
Along those lines, here are a few things I would like to see added to the app. More in depth instructions for harder recipes, backgrounds on the brewing method/who made them, and videos to show how each recipe is done for reference. Overall 6/10 Needs improvement but not the worst thing out there

  • Recipes Are Inaccurate

This app is a GREAT idea. The way it’s laid out is great. The functionality is great. There are three main problems. Firstly, I have discovered that MANY of the recipes are not recorded correctly. In clicking the links to the source for the recipe, the grams of coffee are often wrong, the grind size can be wrong, and other details as well. The recipe link is right in the app. These are easily verifiable mistakes. Secondly, it would be nice to have the option to edit existing recipes. Taking for granted that the recipes are correct, it would be nice to be able to make changes. Finally, it would be lovely to have a little more flexibility on the options you can include for making your own recipe. For instance, I have a recipe I like from the 2017 World AeroPress Competition winner, and she adds water to the coffee after it has been plunged and brewed. There’s no way for me to add that in the app. Maybe include a function where you can type in your own instruction instead of having to rely solely on the instruction items provided in the app. I want to love this app so badly. But inaccurate recipes? I actually can’t use this app now. I have to find the original recipes to get the correct data. Accurate, verified recipes, and a little more flexibility/customization would make this PERFECT.

  • Great timer app

I use this app every morning.
  • Helpless

I don’t see any benefits paying for this.
there is no recipes, just few methods.
You can find more datas and all champs AeroPress recipes online for free.
and nothing is best than a chronometer to brew coffee (not a minuter with messed up steps between pours) I only see an accumulation of bad design decisions that will for sure disappoint users.

  • Fun ways to use your AeroPress

It is really cool to see all of the methods to brew coffee with your AeroPress. A must have if you use your AeroPress often.
  • Very useful but...

... what happened to the Apple Watch app?
  • Great starting out but lacking when adding recipes

I really love this app when starting out using the AeroPress. The built in recipes are really easy to follow. And it makes it really easy to get a great quality cup even as a beginner. Much easier than doing a pour over.

There is one thing I would like fixed, and that is I would like to have the create or add a recipe with as much detail as the built in recipes do. For example most built-in recipes will tell you how much water to add during a pour step, but when you are adding in a recipe you can only put in the amount of time in a pour step not the amount of time and amount of water being poured. This is bad if there maybe more than one pour step in a recipe and with each step there are differing amounts.

Also the conversions don’t quite work well.

And lastly editing a added recipe is not available. If you are putting in a new recipe you can go back in some parts during the add in process and edit but if you make a mistake in the steps section you cannot fix it, and have to start from the beginning. And if you want to edit your recipe later after creating it, you would have to either trash the old one and create a whole new recipe or keep the old one and create an entire new one with a new name.

So for $5 the app provides you with access to some great recipes, however the customization portion of the app is quite lacking for $5.

  • Really needs an update

Summary if you want a quick yay/nay: Pass on buying this.
It's fun and welcomes creativity, but is super limited for a $5 purchase (when you can easily find more detailed brewing descriptions online for FREE)...

This app is fun and pleasing to look at with some great recipes. It functions great.

But it needs an update bad...
The only provided championship recipes are way back from 2014. Details are pretty limited on how to do the brews just right.
Some of them or so vague that you could very easily do them wrong. (Sasaki's #1 recipe for example).

There's the ability to create and save your own recipes which is awesome, but not worth $5. Just get a sketch pad or use your notes app.
