### 4/5 — Good for accompanying Orange Theory YouTube classes

*2020-06-01, version 1.4.3*

You can use this app if you strap on your orange theory heart rate monitor on at home and it even shows you when you’re in the orange & red zones so you can see how many splat points (1min in orange or red zones) you’re getting as well as calories burned . Perfect for lockdown

### 2/5 — Settings

*2020-02-05*

Still annoying two years later. Cannot wear Monitor with Apple Watch or save data.

### 3/5 — A little annoying to use

*2017-03-17*

You have to enter settings each time you want to use the app. Red zone should be 90% of your maximum heart rate. Aside from that it gives you fast info on your heart rate.

### 2/5 — Fail

*2017-02-07*

I think the calculations are accurate, but the only way to save them is doing a screen capture. The email function is intermittent at best and unreliable overall.

### 2/5 — Don't kill music

*2016-08-30, version 1.4.3*

Looking for a simple app. This would have been perfect except it kills Spotify every time you load it.

### 4/5 — Apple watch 60 Beat strap heart rate monitor

*2016-04-26*

When is the apple watch version of this coming put?

### 4/5 — Not bad

*2016-02-26*

Great app, does exactly what it says it does. Only thing that would make it perfect is if would save your workouts to be viewed later on.

### 4/5 — Works well!

*2015-11-28*

That app has always worked well for me – no problems. I also like the manual feature to calculate BPM. -1 star because the UI could use a refresh.

### 2/5 — Last update fail!!

*2015-11-23*

The app worked great until this last update, now I can't use the monitor and listen music at the same time with bluetooth headphones, music play at the speaker instead.
please fix that!

### 2/5 — Crashes, disrupts music, wants 2 access mic

*2015-10-23*

At first they thought the app was really great but then, every time I would turn it on, or switch from this app to another app my music would stop playing. The first time I started the app, the app asked to access my microphone. Of course I clicked no but I suspect it's still accessing my mic without my permission. Why does a heart rate monitor app need access to a microphone?

The app started crashing in the middle of a workout so I would lose all the data.

Not happy...

### 4/5 — Nice, cheap option for heart rate monitor

*2015-10-02, version 1.4.3*

Works well, using while sparring, the app needs a save workout option, and a direct share to social media

### 2/5 — Not working with iOS9!!!!!

*2015-09-19, version 1.4.2*

It was ok before... Now I cannot even use it! When clicking on app logo it fails to launch...

### 3/5 — Needs a memory/history function

*2015-08-05, version 1.4.2*

Easy to pair with my Wahoo BLE chest strap, the interface is excellent. To make it perfect and stop me for looking for another app, is for it to store the workout data and show history.

I would pay for that!

### 3/5 — Needs tweeking

*2015-03-23, version 1.4.1*

Really great little App which gives you just the information you really need and no more. A few niggles. I've used it to train twice and it's crashed twice on my Iphone 6 plus. This is annoying as you have to start again and lose your previous data from that workout. Also I have to enter gender details every time I use it? All be it that's only twice but if it can remember my age and weight why not my gender? Also a history section in the app so you could easily monitor progress over time would be a great addition.

### 4/5 — Great for home workouts

*2015-02-20*

Okay, so I'm actually using this app on my iPad mini. Normally, I use my Polar H7 monitor strap that puts out heart rate information to devices via bluetooth or to old (and cheaper/easily available) 5.3khz (like Polar's old T31 monitor straps).

The H7 uses batteries quicker than the old straps (cause it's also putting out bluetooth signal). With this app, I can use the Kyto Dongle plugged into my ipad mini. Nice big display of heart rate while I work out.

The only I'm not rating it five stars is because there are no options to setting alarms when you fall outside your preferred heart ranges.

### 4/5 — Exactly what I wanted

*2015-01-31*

I love this app. It does exactly what I want and nothing more. So many apps are cluttered with tons of features I don't want. With this, I can see my heart rate while I workout and see what zone it's in. I can record my heart rate during a workout session and email myself the results. It sync's easy enough with the chest band once you get it down with a little water and the user interface of the app is better than most. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the email yourself the results (great feature) doesn't work on my wife's Galaxy phone while does perfectly on my iPhone and there's no support for tablet which would be better to monitor while I workout because of the larger screen size. Those two complaints aside, I still highly recommend.

### 2/5 — Won't connect

*2015-01-28, version 1.4.1*

This was working great for a few days, but now it won't connect to my polar blue tooth monitor anymore. It is "paired", but won't connect. I tried deleting and downloading the app again, but it still won't work. Very frustrating!!!

### 3/5 — ??

*2014-09-24, version 1.4.1*

The app had been working excellently.
It was simple and did what I needed: Monitor my HR and count the calories I burned. I got their monitor and everything. However, after the IOS 8 update it stopped measuring my bpm! I tried contacting them, but I can't find how or where. I hope they update the app soon to match the update

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Looking for info

*2019-01-08*

Does anyone know which OS this stopped working with?

### 1/5 — Won't pair

*2017-04-16*

Brand new 60beat chest band is detected but won't pair. Yep, the sensors are wet. Strava has no problem connecting.

### 1/5 — Only seems to work with a specific brand.

*2015-11-03, version 1.4.3*

Doesn't find my Wahoo Bluetooth HRM, so utterly useless.

### 1/5 — No go on iOS9

*2015-09-22, version 1.4.2*

Just not compatible with iOS9 apparently. Dead in the water after upgrade

### 1/5 — Useless

*2015-06-24, version 1.4.1*

Enough said

### 1/5 — Crap app.

*2015-03-30, version 1.4.1*

Useless.

### 1/5 — Disconnects Constantly

*2015-02-17, version 1.4.1*

Used to work prior to ios8 - now just disconnects constantly - very disappointed with this app.

### 1/5 — Constantly disconnects

*2015-01-25*

This app would be great but it constantly disconnects and I have to reconnect manually. I have only been using it 15 minutes and it hasn't been out of range where it should disconnect. I'm using the 60 beat blue heart monitor so there shouldn't be any problem!

Also why do you have to manually connect every single time? Can't it remember my device? And does the first time use/instructions screen really have to come up every time I open the app?

This app is a big disappointment.

### 1/5 — Works terrible w the 60beat monitor app

*2014-11-10, version 1.4.1*

The app works terrible w its own app!!!!!
But, it syncs and works perfectly w my cyclemeter bike app.
I have no idea why it doesn't want to work w its own app.
It doesn't keep sync while I'm working out. I ran today for 3 miles and it only registered 17 mins- I don't run fast, I ran for 30 mins. The physical strap is around my chest and my phone is on my arm!!!!
But, once again, it syncs and works perfectly w my cyclemeter app.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work anymore

*2014-10-13, version 1.4.1*

With the new operating system it will not connect to my Bluetooth heart rate monitor.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great! Runs with Polar H10 on iOS10.9

*2019-09-02, version 1.4.3*

Great app! I have the Polar H10 but an old iPhone, so couldn't run the polar app. This app still runs on the older iOS and recognizes the Polar Heart Rate Monitor. Perfect! 😀

### 5/5 — Works great !

*2015-02-01, version 1.4.1*

Use this with Jarv 4.0 low energy heart rate band and work great. I'm using it on iPhone 5.

### 5/5 — Does just what I wanted it to do

*2014-07-23*

Searched for several days for an app that would just track my HR using a HR monitor. I have cycle and fitness apps that use the GPS, and when exercising, I use these but they burn the battery quite rapidly. I wanted something to just record HR whilst I was not exercising to full capacity or just walking. The bonus is that the app tracks HR zones based on heart rate. I am using a scosche HR monitor and it works well with app.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2013-10-08, version 1.3*

Works great.

### 5/5 — Syncs well

*2013-09-18, version 1.3*

Sync from App, Not from settings menu on phone. Easy! I like the customization.

### 5/5 — This app is to be prized for its real worth---a true gem.

*2013-08-23*

This app is skillfully crafted specifically for Cardio workouts --- head-and-shoulders above others of the same ilk. It still needs to incorporate a workout log as soon as possible, since such a module is a "must-have" in any app's development. I would hazard a guess, however, that the developer will soon include a workout log, music, and possibly a cadence meter--- all standard fare for this type of app. BTW, if you have problems linking to BLE, make sure 60beat HRM is the only app synced with your device (remove others from memory by closing them) and it will connect instantly. (This may be a glitch the developer needs to review as BLE probably should recognize several devices simultaneously). IT A GREAT APP AND THE DEVELOPER DESERVES YOUR SUPPORT.

### 5/5 — Works with Polar H7

*2013-05-17, version 1.3*

I just bought the Polar H7 and it synced immediately and worked fine for my workout this morning. Only question I have is is there a way to collect and save the data?

### 5/5 — Simple but good

*2013-03-27, version 1.3*

Does the simple task of logging time spent in various heart-rate zones as determined by age/weight or by a manual input (for people like me, on medications).

The reason other reviewers couldn't pair it with their chest monitor is that like myself initially, they didn't notice that they had to click on the monitor when it appeared in the search field; and that they had to hit a small 'save' button to record their heart-rate zone settings.

Once that's done, it works perfectly.

### 5/5 — Great for serious workouts. (Not for calorie counting)

*2013-03-01*

Started using this app about a month ago with the 60beat BLUE chest strap and it has worked flawlessly. Syncs up in a couple of seconds and is accurate. I have used it for P90x,P90x+, running and even tried it with yoga. Only minor issue with chest strap is if contacts do not stay moist it might lose Bluetooth connection. (Just means you have to work harder and sweat more).

### 5/5 — Not made for beginners

*2013-02-08, version 1.3*

It paired really easily with polar Bluetooth. Took seconds to happened.
It allows you to input manually your MHR instead of using the simple/generic formula 226-age. However, it will offer you to do it automatically if you prefer it.
Very happy with it.
