My favorite study app

I absolutely love this study app. I believe it’s one of the best ones out there right now and I think it’s an incredible value for the amount of questions, rationales, and all the other extras included too. I like this app better than U-World because you just pay for it one time and you can use it forever. I’ve had it for 4 years and it’s still my favorite study app by far.

Questions are flawed

After taking nclex review classes, it is apparent that many questions are flawed on this app. There is a serious lack of nursing prioritization questions as well. Questions tend to steer toward more didactic information and promotes only memorization as opposed to critical thinking. The rationales behind questions and answers as well are also disappointing as it seems to be only textbook definitions of what the question involved, while very seldom actually giving legitimate rationale as to why an answer choice is wrong. The questions here also almost completely contradict what Hurst and Kaplan teach you when it comes to taking test questions and choosing answers. These questions are too open ended and do not lead the test taker to choose appropriate answers as they make the answer choices so vague that almost anything can be rationalized to be a right answer.

I can assure you, however, that we have created great solutions that address each concern you bring up. We recently completed an 18-month enrichment project on the app, one focus of which was to ensure that more than half of the questions involved prioritization, other analysis, or application. It's a great sign that the choices are clear to you! Most users tell us the questions are more difficult than the NCLEX and given efficient preparation. Our quiz questions contain many straightforward, knowledge-level content. We maintain this to serve the large base of our learners who use the app to study for their course-related exams in addition to NCLEX, so we try to provide enough to suit all of those needs. All the rationales in the app have been revised to be thorough learning tools. Although they will sometimes contain definitions, they all also contain the precise reasoning for each choice within our choice-specific rationales. We do not follow other companies – thank you for pointing this out! Rather, we follow every nuance of and update to the NCLEX. Our writers are trained to understand every blueprint update, standard interpretation, and item-type release. For example, those items that contain several answer choices that seem vague or equally appealing have been carefully designed to test NCLEX's new requirements on critical thinking when presented with several seemingly correct responses. Great app

This app is the best! I used it for two weeks leading up to the test and completed 1500 questions from the question bank. I only had a 50% overall score so I was a little nervous going into the test. However, the questions on this app were a lot more challenging then the questions on the NCLEX. With that being said answering the difficult questions on this app made the NCLEX seem like a breeze. I was able to pass in 79 questions and it wouldn’t have been possible without this app. Five stars!

Passed at 75 Questions!

Okay, I was in a massive time crunch with around 3 months to go before my exam date. I didn’t have time to review as I knew I should have, and relied heavily on this app! I wouldn’t recommend the way I studied but I know I would not have passed without this app. Thanks to NCLEX RN Mastery and the people behind it.
I am actively recommending this to friends and strangers readying to take the NCLEX!

You will pass the First Time

I never write reviews but this app is amazing. I had several friends that used UWorld and failed the NCLEX all I did was study this app and passed the First Time. Everybody I have told to use the app have passed the NCLEX RN and PN the first time. It’s set up to allow you to see your progress, weak areas, explanations, and you can put your test date in and it will tell you how many questions a day you need to study. Honestly questions on the NCLEX were exact or just worded different. MUST HAVE for nursing students.

Extremely helpful

I passed the NCLEX on the first try with 75 questions. I used this app with the premium package and my school’s mandatory use of ATI. ATI is confusing and hard and sometimes the rationales don’t provide you with much information. With Mastery, the rationales are thoroughly explained and the questions are styled like actual NCLEX questions. The pre and post simulation tests are worth upgrading to premium. The tests look exactly how the NCLEX does. It helps you feel more comfortable during the NCLEX. The app is also helpful during nursing school because of the many questions provided for each subject. It really helped me prepare for exams.

Best app but expensive

I loved it for the free trial it gave for one hour, which I guess is why they do it. There’s so much this app has to offer and I love it, but it’s very expensive. The developers reply to all their reviews and are clearly very hard workers. It’s expensive but I suppose it’s inconsiderate to give a bad review just because the developers need to make a living. I do really love it and recommend it to anyone committed enough to pay for it.

Great resource!

I have been using this app since 1st year (currently in 4th) and I just did a practice NCLEX in class and finished in under an hour with 1113 points (about 97%), and I think a lot of that success could be attributed to me using this app throughout my schooling. Easy to pull out and do a few questions at a time, or sit down for a while and really study. The more you do, the more familiar you are with the content and question style, and all of the rationales help you learn content you may not have covered yet!!

Annoyed...

Everything is still great, but one of the recent updates did a weird thing where it reset my percentage of correctly answered questions. It is only showing the amount of questions I’ve answered and the percentage I’ve gotten correct since that update. The subject breakdown still shows the bars with the correct amount of green, yellow, and red, but if I haven’t answered any questions from that subject since the update, it is either saying 100% or 0%. I’m a little worried this isn’t going to get fixed and I’m not going to know the total number of questions I’ve answered correctly. And since I paid for the full unlocked app, the $24 unlock, I really hope it does since it’s such a great and useful app otherwise.
