Needs A Lot of Work Before It Can Be Trusted in the Backcountry
The whole experience of this app just feels like it’s still in Alpha. Sign up was a joke. I couldn’t sign up at 11pm (what if I push SOS at night, will THAT work?) and had to wait until morning when it finally worked. I sent a message about this to support and didn’t get a reply. Some sent messages were never received by the intended recipient. Some of their responses never came in to me. No notifications in iOS on two devices. All of this makes for a totally untrustworthy device and service. When it comes to my safety in the backcountry, I need a device I can trust. I guess I’ll be going to Spot or Garmin because this app is being deleted and the Motorola Defy Satellite Link is being returned.Show lessAV8NDAD
Not ready for Prime Time
I had high hopes for the new Motorola Defy Link.
I never had a chance to test it because the Bullitt App created many problems from entering a phone number to creating a password!
I was further disappointed as the company had no telephone number or email address to seek help! So the Motorola May be great,BUT
the company ( which is British) is not up to the task other than
getting your Credit Card information… BUT no real help !

Not a Garmin InReach.
Not worth the hassle. Get a Garmin inReach if you want reliable, worldwide coverage. If you like gambling and think this will save you when you're in a pinch, give the Motorolla a try. Motorola have been out of touch in the consumer market for a long time. This is more evidence.ORBHIVE
New message notification issue
I also want to raise the issue that the app will not notify when a new message is received unless the app is already running in the background.
To replicate the issue, kill the app and have someone to send you a message. There will be no notification until the app has been launched and is running in the background. It seems subsequent messages received will trigger notification.Show lessDominik94002

Won’t connect
Won’t connect to my Motorola defy. Called tech support and all they could offer was to reboot my phone and try again. They could sign me up for a plan and collect my credit card info but zero help getting connected.erdoc2
Please place the battery indicator on the main screen
Given the device does not have dedicated battery level indicator, the battery level indicator should be more prominent in the app.Developer Response

This is required to use the Motorola Satellite link. It occasionally appears to work, but is clearly the weak link in the chain required to use the emergency satellite connectoin. Thiis is not at all confidence-inspiring. The app describes a free year of basic text and SOS, but when you register via the Bullitt app, that year magically morphs into 3 months. Bluetooth connection is very hit-or-miss. I also tried to install on an M1 mac mini. The app won't even open on that, which is a pity, because it would have significantly increased utility. For those having trouble creating account, do it via the website on a desktop browser. Then transfer the credentials to your phone. If you are reading this wondering if you should get the Motorola device, I would hold off until the bugs are worked out or an alternate service providor comes along.Show lesswgscott
Does Not Notify Send/Receive
Using with the new Defy satellite messenger. Messages do not notify receiving user of new message until app is open and in focus. Will not update and notify in background. This needs to be fixed in order to be effective messenger hardware/software. Tried on multiple iOS devices with all location, security, and notification permissions enabled on iPhone.
App must be open in background to receive notifications.
