Super clean and easy app, growing vinyl marketplace

Absolutely love what the group at Moose is doing from a technology and record marketplace perspective. The app is visually pleasing and so easy to use. There’s a good knowledge base and blog about music, the vinyl market continues to grow, and I’m excited to see what this young team continues to develop in the future.

👍

Better than Discogs👍

Barcode search doesn’t work

The UI is definitely exponentially better than Discogs. However, the barcode search doesn’t work. It can’t find any of my vinyl in my collection. Instead, it expects me to type them out. I would switch to this if the barcode search works.

Response from developer

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! The barcode scanner can only find things that are searchable within our database. As people suggest records to our database, those records will become scannable. We’re very early into our project and we’re confident that as our community grows, so too will our capabilities. Cheers!

Me

I am pleased with this system. I used it and had success

Poor handling of sales

I sold an album on this site and apparently a glitch in their system wouldn’t process a customers purchase and I lost out on a sale of $130. The company solution to the lost sale was just an apology. They should have contacted the customer and completed the sale lost because of their “ glitch” or at least offer to pay for the sale that their system failed to complete. Still waiting to hear back from their company to honor the sale. I’m not going to hold my breath. Beware!!

Howdy from Moose Vinyl, First and foremost, thanks for selling with Moose. We can’t build the best independent marketplace for vinyl collectors, buyers and sellers without people like you. We made sure that this transaction went through and your sale was honored. Every day we’re working to make this product better for both buyers and sellers and in this case, we made sure to fix the shortcoming in our code, fulfill the transaction and maintain communication with you the entire time. We did everything in our power to make things right for you and we would do that for any one of the users in our Moose Pack. Cheers!

Awesome, Seamless App

I’ve been so impressed with the app since downloading. The user interface is amazing and I love being able to add records to my digital collection and see it all in a glance. Can’t wait to grow my vinyl library - I think this app going to make it so easy to record shop that my budget is going to wish I hadn’t downloaded it, but I can’t go back now! Definitely recommend to all vinyl lovers

Moose Got Me Loose

For the record, I love Moose Vinyl. It took me for a spin.

The functionality of the app is very smooth. This thing will only get cooler as the collection of vinyl grows. I’m excited to share some of my favorite gems & to have a chance at finding those records that have forever eluded me.

Love it

The app is intuitive and I have loved building out my collection. Would def recommend to anyone looking for an easy way to catalogue/purchase their vinyl :)

Perfect for Vinyl Collectors!

If you’re into vinyl collecting you’re going to want this app.

I recently got into vinyl collecting and I love how straightforward the UI is. They also have a community I can engage with on Discord and Reddit where I can give feedback for improvements.

Selling records is also super straightforward and they come in this nice secure “Moose Mailer” so I know my records get to me safely!

Maybe it needs to mature a little?

I’m pretty suspicious when the first review is five stars and talks about “our team” building a great product.

Using Apple Music to match means my 1979 album is cataloged with “bonus tracks” and that is an inaccurate means of building an accurate discography. Then there’s the idea of bar codes which my original 70’s era classic rock original vinyl doesn’t have. Google image search did better with an exact LP match.

I’m likely the wrong demographic for this, people with newly acquired record collections might have bar codes on much of their (reissued) vinyl collection. The overall projected accuracy and time effort just won’t be worth it to me.

Thanks for your review! We’re very early in this project and there’s still so much we intend to build into this application. We have a local database that is growing as people suggest records that aren’t indexed through Apple Music. As time goes on, more obscure titles will be searchable. Good luck with your record collecting journey and you’ll always be welcome back.
