Disastrous

The app has been problematic since launch. Our profile was deleted when the system transfer happened. Recreated our account. Trying to use the app results in crashes and inconsistent search results. We found a cultural care au pair outside of the system and we have been unable to match with her because the app and new system has problems with rematched au pairs.

Just look at the release notes. There are new versions pushed out daily to try to resolve all the issues. Six new versions this week.

It is clear there was inadequate testing of this project and now families and au pairs are stuck because of it.

Horrific experience

Launching a new app and website on the same day, neither of which is functional was a diabolical move. This is directly interfering with my ability to match with an identified au pair and may cost me the match after countless hours interviewing a dozen au pairs. No guidance issued on navigating the new app or the fact that “connections” is now “chats” as if that was intuitive - HORRIFIC disaster of a rollout and whoever built this app should find a new career path - and I work in the software development industry!

Another thing - the new REQUIREMENT to upload pictures of the inside of your home is a complete invasion of privacy and cheapens the entire process of matching. To publicly display photos of my home on my profile as if au pairs are shopping for a home to live in based on looks - absolutely unacceptable. This itself is enough to have me looking for a new agency. Pictures of the au pairs room? Fine. But inside of my private home? Absolutely not. This is about cultural exchange and relationship building, it’s not Zillow. Remove this requirement or you will be losing a lot of families who value their privacy and the integrity of the search process.

DO BETTER Cultural Care. For the tens of thousands you take from your repeat families like mine, I couldn’t be more disappointed.

Search functions do not work

The App literally does not allow a family to search for an Au Pair. It shows 2-7 Au pairs available and has lost some functionality/preferences for searching. While a family cannot search for important characteristics, the app also puts families in continuous loops of watching videos/taking personality profiles, and not recognizing that step was completed. Unfortunately the Au Pair company is also paralyzed by the ‘upgrades’ and also cannot search or provide support.

Terrible app

Too many issues to list:
(1) The app still thinks we are with our old au pair.
(2) We cannot chat with any new au pairs because of issue 1.
(3) It is difficult to look at profiles because the information is so large and encompasses the entire screen.
(4) It takes hours if not days to fix any issue with IT.
(5) The app deleted au pairs we were previously chatting with prior to the app rollout.
(6) The new website/app does not allow for a keyword search.

Shame on cultural care!

Horrible app, bad roll out, bad customer service to deal with the crappy app they forced on their customers.

Not user friendly

The previous website was so much better. The search functionality is awful. I cannot see extension details for the au pairs that are extending their year or in rematch. The old website was much easier to use.

DISASTER - please rollback ASAP

Please roll back to the previous version of the website ASAP. The current one is completely unusable, and we’re stuck in a rematch with no childcare options. This is beyond irresponsible. We’re completely let down by this and are now exploring other agencies because nothing works.

Awful Relaunch

The old site was decent and could’ve used an update, but at least it worked. The new app won’t even load upon login. When I could briefly access the app yesterday, many of the Au Pair profiles appeared broken and the Search experience was an unfortunate downgrade. I didn’t appreciate how the migration seemed to delete parts of our Host Family profile (pictures, references, etc). The mobile web design solution for the desktop experience is incredibly strange and the responsive breakpoints are exceptionally buggy.

Some of the refreshed visual and brand aesthetics are great (one of the reasons we chose Cultural Care)…but so many of the Product, UX, and the Engineering decisions have fallen very short. Not sure what happened here, but the team should’ve invested in more user testing, time to refine the experience, and QA.

App needs so much work

They never should have gotten rid of the website. The app is pretty horrible. Majority of the pictures and videos don’t load. I have archived messages I can’t access and the search capabilities are terrible. Also, there use to be tons of videos you could watch and now there’s only one if you’re lucky it loads. There also used to be a lot more information on the au pairs under overview and all that is gone.

Awful, awful, awful

What a horrible app and website “upgrade”! it functions as if it never went thru testing and is full of bugs. Not to mention the new character limits truncated what was imported of my old matching profile and I now have to rewrite entire sections. Don’t get me started on the glitches you’ll experience trying to upload new photos either! For the exorbitant fee we pay to the agency for placement you would think they’d hire a decent web developer but this one is clearly from the bottom of the barrel. Very disappointed and frustrated.
