The Pause Breathe Smile app is primarily for educators who have trained in Aotearoa New Zealand’s own locally designed schools’ mindfulness-based programme; Pause Breathe Smile. The app is designed to support educator’s delivery of the programme’s lessons to tamariki in the classroom. This content is behind the login screen and access is provided to participants of our training only. The Pause Breathe Smile professional development training is proudly funded for New Zealand Primary and Intermediate schools by Southern Cross.
Free access to our At Home meditation selections are available to everyone. We encourage you to find time within your day or week to sprinkle a little mindfulness and grow your wellbeing.
We want to empower tamariki and their whanau to practice mindfulness wherever they may be. Whether your child has been taught Pause Breathe Smile at school, or you just want to try some mindfulness for yourself – this app is for you!
Each meditation has been designed and directed by mindfulness experts with decades of experience and training.

Pause Breathe Smile is a uniquely New Zealand mind health programme designed to equip children aged 5 to 12 with tools to manage the ups and downs of life and set them up for a healthy future. Primarily delivered in schools, by educators, it is evidence-based, curriculum-aligned and funded by Southern Cross.
Southern Cross’ involvement makes it possible for Pause Breathe Smile to be made available free of charge to any Primary or Intermediate school in New Zealand as well as other eligible organisations who work with children. We are very grateful for their support and commitment to healthy minds. Each individual trained receives a printed Educators Handbook and ongoing access to online resources in the Pātaka - member’s area of the website and membership access to this app.
