  • Disappointed, displeased

This review applies to version 1.2 of the app.

I created an account using Apple’s “Hide my email” feature, then began creating my video. I thought it was odd that it wouldn’t let me proceed unless I gave it access to my location, but it said I could revoke access later. You either need it or you don’t, and if you don’t, then let me skip the part where you ask for that access.

After I created the video, I adjusted its location to “No location” because there’s no reason the company needs to know where I recorded the video, and then uploaded it. It said it would notify me when the flythrough was ready, so I waited. After a while I received a notification saying it was ready, but when I opened the app, the thumbnail displayed a loading spinner and the video said it was still on the “NERF training” step, and gave me no option to download it or even pay to download it. The entry for that video in the flythrough list also displayed my location even though it was supposed to have been removed.

After waiting for about an hour, I thought maybe something was stuck and restarting my phone might get it unstuck, but after I restarted my phone and reopened the app, it had logged me out and the “Log in with Apple” button only gave me the option of logging in with my Apple ID instead of the alias I had created earlier. Not sure if I’m missing something. I’d like to ask them to delete my account, and I had noticed that the profile screen has an option to do that, but I can’t get to my profile screen if I can’t log in.

I went to the app’s page here on the app store and tapped on the “App support” link, which took me to their website, but when I tapped on the Contact button, I’m guessing it’s a mailto link because it tried to open the native mail app which I don’t have set up because I prefer to use a different one. There is no support or feedback mechanism in the app itself that I could see, at least if you’re not logged in.

The experience was disappointing and somewhat frustrating. I’m not sure if that’s because I stepped a little bit outside of what the developers probably anticipated, or if it wouldn’t have worked anyway. Let me know if I just did something wrong; otherwise, I’m happy to amend this review if the developers fix the app and leave me a response here notifying it.

  • Much improved (and suggestions)

The update is much improved so I wanted to leave a 5-star. Also, I feel there’s a good opportunity for Luma to monetize. Currently there is no gig service that would pay me to do cool videos like this for realtors. I would love to see Luma find a way for me to do “fly through yours” for realtors and Luma can take a cut from the work I did. I currently take photos for iVue to make some pocket change. Maybe a partnering with Free Guides app, OpenDoor, Zillow, Airbnb etc for people to do this?
    There’s potential.

  • Bad

My video was blurry and only 3 secs long & should have been over a minute. I paid for this & not happy
  • Still Needs a lot of improvements

I tried this app three times for two different location
    1) it took forever to upload one video even more than 45 minutes which is an obstacle for realtors as they are trying to get the job done faster
    2) the video quality was very disappointing
    3) you need to have a wifi to get the job done, it would not work its best on data
    4) the pricing plan is overpriced for a single video that is not even near good

I like the app idea but it needs much work to get the one

  • Has potential, but still needs work

Pricing should be clear from the beginning but I feel Luma will fix this. It does have bugs on exports.

It also needs some pricing options I feel, such as monthly or even an annual subscription for heavy users.

The ability to enhance the colors, brightness and sharpness on the videos would also be a great addition.

I feel at least one export should be free , like a 10 second one for those wanting to experiment with the app to get used to it.

  • Disappointing

I made a video. Paid the $10 thinking the weird smudges would go away and save as HD. Horrible video quality and a waste of money.
  • Just a video

I thought this was going to create a virtual tour, but it’s just a stabilized video. And the pricing is confusing as others have mentioned. The developers have another app called Luma AI where you can do the same thing for free
  • Upload failed

Always get the error message upload failed, data is missing. Not able to make it work. Even I am using the latest version.
  • Expensive

The results look great, but beware, this is not a subscription based app. It is $10 per export.
  • Disappointed

Sadly, I have to agree with another reviewer. The pricing is not clear, and a lot of people will leave similar reviews if the messaging is not improved. I paid twice because I figured it was a glitch with the in app purchase process, and that it would restore my previous purchase. Instead, I paid $20 for two 5 second test clips. I’ve been following this company for a while as a fan, but I won’t be using the app again. Just to be clear, I don’t have a problem with the pricing — I have a problem with the in app messaging, because it gives the impression that you are paying a one time fee to unlock HD exports. I have to imagine the purchase screen messaging was debated, and this feedback was ignored. Because there’s no way it wasn’t mentioned by anyone on the dev team. If the plan is to stick with a single use purchase model, there needs to be a second confirmation screen before the user spends 10 bucks on a 5 second test clip.
