Scam App

This is a scam app that has got NOTHING to do with Freecycle.

f you wish to join the Freecycle community, the ONLY way to do so is via the Freecycle.org website. The Freecycle Network does NOT yet have an app.

If you wish to sit through dozens of ads, and find nothing of use from any other member, then this app might suit you.

But if you’d like to join “Freecycle” then this app is the WRONG place to start.

Instead, go to Freecycle.org and create your free Freecycle account there.

Impersonation / Passing Off as Freecycle app

This app has been misleading named after the unrelated FreeCycle.org website (which is 100% free and provides the same functionality without any of these in-app purchases etc) in order to drive downloads of this monetised app by people who mistakenly think they are “using FreeCycle” by downloading the app. A shameful attempt to profit off of an actually free service by copying its name and relying on people to mistake it for the real thing. Go straight to the website instead and avoid this sham app

Too buggy to be used

Absolutely full of bugs.

Absolute Joke

You have to watch 20 ads to even reach out to people, this is insane!

It’s great to see a fresh idea for an app like this, the app is so well made and a pleasure to use but the credit system just isn’t it. This is about recycling items to each other, not giving money to an app creator.

SCAM

Do not download. You have to watch 20 minute-long ads to be able to message one person, unless you purchase a prescription. I purchased a weekly subscription and they took my money but nothing changed on the app. I still couldn’t message anyone. Thankfully I hadn’t bought the more expensive subscription! Big scam do not make purchases with this app.

STILL Won’t let me create an account

I did as you suggested and updated. Then uninstalled and reinstalled. It still won’t let me register. When I press register, nothing happens.
It doesn’t say what the requirements are for username and passwords. If there are requirements, it should say what they are.

Response from developer

Total waste of time

Installed the app and first had a hard time even starting a new account, then when I was finally able to look at some stuff, it was showing me items from all over the country. I’m not driving from Ohio to Missouri no matter HOW great an item is!
Also, no descriptions or anything; just random photos.
Don’t waste your time folks.

Thank you for your feedback. To create an account, please click the "Sign Up" button located at the bottom of the first screen when you open the app. You will need to enter a valid email and password on the registration screen. After creating your account, you will be prompted to select your country. Once you have selected your country, you will be shown items shared by people from your country, not from all over the world. We are continuously working on improving our app, and your feedback is invaluable to us. We are sorry for any inconvenience you faced and appreciate your patience.
