Same problem
I am having the same problem as another reviewer. The app will start off sounding great and read for a short while and then suddenly freeze. I downloaded it to both my iPad and iPhone with various settings but got the same result.
It would be an excellent app if it only worked!Takeoutchick

As others have mentioned, this app can choke on larger files and stop working. Hopefully a sleep timer will be added for larger files, so the app will stop reading after a timeframe or at the end of a chapter. Amazing voice quality.StupendousMan

I think this app is great. I’ve used it so much in the last few weeks since I downloaded it. Yesterday and today, however, separate texts from different sources seemed to make the app freeze. It won’t get beyond the first few paragraphs in the article. I hope this is fixed, as I love the app.Nadniel

Maybe the app is so new that they are still working out bugs, but the app keeps freezing after about 5 minutes of reading. Otherwise this would be among my favorite apps of all time.Hsnndnsllal

I love this app and the voices are the most realistic of any speech to text reader I’ve found so far. Hopefully they will keep updating it because it is very glitchy and will often stop reading in the middle of an article shared from the link. This is a very user-friendly app and if it was more consistent would be number one by far!Show lesstheschoolpsych

As others have said, the app is excellent when it works doing exactly what you want it to with a nice interface. You can have any article or file read to you at the speed of your choice in an AI generated voice of your choice. Eleven labs AI readers sounds completely natural and high quality. If you leave off midway through and article you can simply return later and pick up where you left off while reading along if you like.
The problem is, it simply fails too often at present. I’ve used the app 7 times and it has not worked 3 of them. The text loads and the AI reader loads for the first 1-2 minutes then halts. Probably the server can’t handle the request, sometimes you get an error message sometimes you don’t but you’ll just have to try again in a few hours because it will not proceed.
If this issue gets fixed I would absolutely love the app and use it all the time. As is, I can’t use it because the convenience of having the article read to me as opposed to reading it is outweighed by the inconvenience of the unreliability that it will work. I’ve stopped using for now but will try again in a few months to see if the issue is handled.Show lessAviel.P

I always love to read along while listening to an audiobook. This app turns any ebook into an audiobook and read along at the same time. If they solve the stability issues it deserves 5 stars but unfortunately the app is useless at the moment because the voice simply do not load and if they do it stops after a few sentences.

Would be a great tool but it’s not ready for prime time.
The voices stall or quit unexpectedly at random times. The buffering wheel spins and spins.
I have great connectivity so it’s not on my end.
Switching voices seems to help but only for a short while.
Would be willing to pay for this service if it were stable / reliable.Show lessXopher30

The app is great - so much better than paying per character on the website. However, it crashes frequently. The playback freezes at random points, corrupting the entire file and making it unplayable. There’s also no way to edit the text - you have to delete and reupload a revised version. Will be a 5 star app, once the bugs are worked out.Show lesstenney.liddon

As a legally blind user this is a dream come true. Elevenlabs has by far the most natural sounding computer voices and to be able to paste in any text and have it read by my favorite voices is beyond compare. I interpret the phrase “any length of text” and “import epubs” as “be able to read books you couldn’t before.”
I’m still half in disbelief that this is some sort of bug and my usage limit will update in a few more hours but right now it seems like elevenlabs are going in on the side of valuing accessibility and I am in the target audience for that so I really really appreciate it ❤️Show lesstoe knoee
